Mel Gibson Won't Brave The Rabble to Visit Pope
Political and religious leaders the world over have descended on Rome in the past few days to pay their respects to Pope John Paul II, who will be laid to rest today. But Hollywood's most high-profile Catholic is sitting the ceremonies out. "You can’t have a star like Mel Gibson waiting in line like that," said a spokesperson for the Passion of the Christ director. "It
would have created a scene." The thing about making jokes is, when they ask for it this hard, it's almost more satisfying *not* to give it to them.

Sorry truthseeker, wrong again, you misquoted the article. It says: IT would have created a scene and not HE would have created a scene. Perhaps you can understand that, being the star that he is, people would turn to him and probably choke him to death. He did the right thing. Besides, being a star might be fun for a while but you can never join a line anonymous, there are always people recognizing you...please try to be a bit more understanding. It wouldn't harm you and perhaps it would even fit.

Of course he would create a scene. He is a star. He also have one thing in common with the church "making money off the name of the Nasareth". Yup.
