How Stuff Works: Lightsabers
How Stuff Works just published a seven page informative and fun article on Lightsabers. So if you’ve ever sat there watching Star Wars: A New Hope and wondered “How does the blade of light know where to stop?” This site will tell you.You can read about the arc wave energy field the hilt produces. We learn about the four major components inside any lightsaber, which are - of course - the power cell, crystal energy chamber, energy channel, and the controls. This is the type of site where we get useful diagrams showing the inside workings of an actual light saber.
We also learn of the many uses of the lightsaber, which is not limited to combat. Around the household you can use a saber to cut and toast a bagel in one swing, light a cigarette, or cut the hedges.

Wouldn't it be great if we could create a real lightsaber? And then we give it to say, Tom Cruise and give him like 8 million dollars to hunt down George Lucas and slice his stupid head off.
How cool would that be?
I think it would be a good end for Ole' George and his "LightSaber" brain.
All kidding aside it looks like Lucas has done it again... with Sith... it took two "learning films" to get there though...
3 if you count the Jedi... which I do of course... you can't unmask Darth Vader, Fool... he isn't even human!
Gawd!
