Wes Anderson and The Fantastic Mr. Fox

According to Variety, Rushmore director Wes Anderson is adapting Roald Dahl's children's book The Fantastic Mr. Fox for the big screen. Dahl was the author of such classics as James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  What's more is that this will be Wes' first stab at a feature length, stop-motion animated movie, although he experimented with some claymation stop-motion animation in his last feature film The Life Aquatic. The book follows "Mr. Boggis who eats three chickens at every meal, potbellied Mr. Bunce who lives on doughnuts stuffed with goose liver paste, and pencil-thin Mr. Bean who drinks hard cider all day long. The three of them have decided to do away with Mr. Fox and his fine family. So determined are these maniacal three, that their efforts to eliminate the Fox family threatens the lives of every digging creature in the forest."
