FanFilm: Jason: The Rebirth

How did Jason Voorhees transform from a drowned boy to a killing machine? Legend has it, Jason saw his mother beheaded on the shore of Crystal Lake. "Now his spirit has been made flesh – he has become an adult man capable of exacting revenge," or so says the log line for Jason: The Rebirth. This animated horror fan film bridges the gap between Friday the 13th and Friday the 13th Part 2. The film won second place in ManiaFest's "Cut 'em up" film contest, and was a recent winner at NecroComicon's Friday the 13th 25th anniversary celebration. The animation is better than you'd expect, with a style of it's own. If you like Jason you need to see this short. But if you really don't care for the series, I say skip it.

That washed out green/black texture for the fanfilm has its own dark flavor to it. This is actually much better than I thought it would be. Too bad this entire franchise pretty much became a joke after part 3 (in 3D). Some redemption recently with Freddy vs. Jason though.
