Star Wars TV Show details revealed

Star Wars producer Rick McCallum revealed the details of Star Wars television series at a Japanese press conference yesterday. Apparently the story will take place in a 20 year span between Episode 3 and Episode 4. McCallum said it will depict how characters end up being together, but wouldn't mention who. But he did mention it will depict how Luke grows up. This doesn't sound right to me though, there's not much interesting in that. Why not show Darth Vader's Empire taking over the galaxy and the few remaining Jedi's fight to stay alive? Who cares about a farmer's kid when he's not going out on space adventures?George Lucas will apparently start working on the series as soon as he finishes Indiana Jones 4., he said. The production will start next year, and the whole series will be about 100 hour long episoders.
McCallum also mentioned the 3-D versions of all six Star Wars movies should hit theaters “within two to three years."

Who does that? Who releases a movie and 4 weeks after it's been released, anounces a new version of it to be released in 2 years. And the serious shortage of jedi in the series is really going to hinder the cool factor. 100 episodes? Stateing that is ballsy, what if it gets canceled?

I'm curious how Han and Chewy become shipmates. Also what about Leia becoming a princess and Obi-won out in the desert rocking the sand people? It seems like those people's adventures are far more interesting than Lukes, as Mr. Sciretta writes above.
100 shows though? I'm with Ash on that ... seems like really dragging those 20 years out.
Also maybe we can learn why it took that long to build the Death Star.

As a super-Star Wars fan, in all honestly, I proclaim:
"Give the Tatooine thing a BREAK!"
I swear, Tatooine, Tatooine, TATOOINE... In 5 out of 6 movies? Luke was DYING to get off that rock... Let's leave it too. Let's see where Biggs Darklighter wound up when he left, how he joined the rebellion... Wedge? He's obviously a good enough pilot to make it through all three movies with Luke... Let's see some adventures!
I don't need to ACTUALLY see someone 'bullseye a womp rat' to believe it happened!

After the clone wars, the empire enslaves all the wookie's. Eventually Han befriends Chewbacca and buys him. That is how they become friends. Not really an emmy show this story makes.

I'll be totally behind ANYTHING Star Wars.
I was hoping for a TV serie4s based on the Rebellion. They sould show the creation of the Rebellion, it would have a good vs. evil-Rebellion vs. the Empire undertone, I would have love to have seen Jimmy Smits in his Bail role. You could have had a great leading lady role with Mon Mothma, include Dodonna, etc.
They could have had so many plot twists including a Luke sub-story.
They could have shown:
The formation and the beginning of Rouge Squadron and Wedge, Porkins (good comic relief anyone?) hecka Biggs backstory would have been great.
An episode devoted to the Bothan spy network
The bounty hunters could have been easily included, heck Fett could have even had jobs working for the Rebellion, he could remain an "independant" but we could have seen him in a "good guy" role which would have been a nice twist.
Could have a whole Jedi hunting sub-plot. Could have all the imperial officers, Tarking, Motti, Veers, Needa, etc. all introduced and paly minor roles or even have episodes devoted to each of them.
Could include Han and show him coming up through the ranks of the Empire, which could also show how he and Chewie get together.
Imagine an episode entitled "The Kessel Run" kinda gives you a chill huh?
How about "Sabbac" and Lando could be introduced.
There could be episodes devoted to Jabba's crime underbelly (pun intended)
With Bail, you could still remain in contact with Obi-Wan and Yoda and wether or not they are actually physically included there could be mentions and they could easily be worked into the scripts.
Stop me! ;^)
