When I lived in Boston I went to a great series of movie "screenings" called Talk Cinema.

If you love movies and are in one of the cities with Talk Cinema, I highly recommend you check it out. A film critic picks out movies he finds interesting from festivals etc and screens them ahead of there release. Afterwards there is a dicussion of the movie.
