First Look at Elizabethtown
Filed under: Drama, Romance, New Releases
Monday we got our first peak at Lost in Translation like poster from Cameron Crowe's Elizabethtown. Now Crowe gives us our first look at some footage from the film. I'm not sure you'd call it a trailer. May-be more of an extended music video? All I know is it's seven minutes long and it's killing me, because I won't be able to see the film till October. See something like this is so unfair, like a cliff hanger ending of 24 or a season finale of Alias. So please, save yourself and stay away because watching this will just make you want more. Crowe is like a drug dealer, selling me the euphoric state of love at 24 frames a second. The first taste is free, and now I have to wait four months to pay for my next fix.
You watch the scene where the fire sprinklers are going off in the ballroom. Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom look at each other from across the room as everyone else scrambles, and we are in THAT MOMENT. Just like the moment in Dorothy Boyd's kitchen in Jerry Maguire. You remember that moment right? Don't watch this preview, I beg you.

I've seen the trailer and I must say it looks to be a different step for Orlando. It's nice to see our latest brittish "import" without the bow n' arrow or swordplay. A shame we have to wait untill October!

I like the shorter MTV/theatrical trailer better. Probably because I like the music better.
Really looking forward to this one.

I prefer the shorter theatrical trailer, which gives a better idea of the plot AND includes enough dialogue to establish the fact that Orlando Bloom can make himself sound like an American. This looks like it's going to be quite a good movie. I didn't think you could make a funny movie about death, but Cameron Crowe has apparently proven me wrong.
