Russell Crowe's lawyer stops handshake
Remember Russell Crowe and the case of the flying phone (which, incidentally, is the title of the next Harry Potter novel)? Radar says that a Cinderella Man producer actually arranged for hotel employee Nestor Estrada to go on The Late Show With David Letterman on June 8 and shake hands with Crowe, which probably would have settled the entire thing. But Crowe's lawyer put a stop to it, instead telling Crowe to tell people that the phone didn't hit Estrada. Doh!

I am very happy Russel Crowe listend to his lawyer rather than being a bigger man to admit his mistake. This way the character of Russel is revealed to perfection a violent and none apologetic person who thinks a little too much of himself.

Because of felony charges pending, I believe that Russell Crowe's lawyer advised him correctly. To have the "victim" appear with Crowe on Letterman would possibly appeared as though Crowe was making fun of the situation. He appears very serious and apologetic about the whole matter. Hopefully it will be resolved quietly and fairly for all involved.

The Radar story does not meet the test of credibility. No lawyer would reject a simple resolution of the incident, which would spare his client criminal prosecution and a civil suit. There are also factual errors in the story. The Robin Baum statement was issued early on the day of the arrest. There would not have been time to arrange a joint Letterman appearance and have it rejected by the lawyer before her statement was issued. The whole story is likely to be a fabrication.
