Geek Report: Giamatti's Screw-On Head, Zoom moves forward, Peta Wilson joins Superman cast and more

Paul Giamatti has signed on to voice the lead character in the animated series pilot Amazing Screw-On Head for the Sci Fi Channel. The show will be based on the Dark Horse comic book by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. David Hyde Pierce, Molly Shannon and Patton Oswalt will also lend their voices to the project. They hope to see a finished pilot by early next year.- Despite Fox's lawsuit accusing Revolution Pictures of stealing ideas from their X-Men franchise, Sony Entertainment is moving forward with Zoom, the $60 million comic book-to-film feature based on Jason Lethcoe's graphic novel Zoom's Academy. The film is on schedule to begin shooting at Toronto's Cinespace Film Studios, July 6 to September 8.
- Peta Wilson (La Femme Nikita) has been cast in Superman Returns as a PR chick named Bobbie Faye who will appear in a scene which is "crucial to the storyline".
