Jennifer Tilly takes ladies title at World Series of Poker
Filed under: Celebrities and Controversy
This one comes from our buddies over at pPlayer: actress Jennifer Tilly - an Oscar nominee for Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway - has just taken the top prize in the Ladies Event at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. "It's been an amazing ride...better than an Oscar," she said yesterday after her win. She's the first celebrity to win a major prize at thw WSoP - although I think Affleck placed somewhere a few years ago - and, as Jen Leo writes, "t's easy to see she's going to be a great ambassador for bringing more women to poker." For her part, Tilly couldn't be happier. "I'm hooked on poker," she said. "I'm not going to stop till I
lose all the money I've won."

Actually, Affleck won $356,400 at the Commerce Casino's California State Poker Championship, garnering him a seat that the World Series of poker this past April. No idea how he did there, though.

Random Jennifer Tilly note: would you believe me if I said that she is 46 years old? A friend recently told me that she is the sister of another Tilly (Meg Tilly I believe), but I didn't think Jennifer Tilly looked old enough to be her sister. I IMDB'ed her, and in fact she is the *older* sister of Meg by 2 years. She certainly doesn't look it...congrats to Jennifer Tilly on her poker win.
