Domino Harvey didn't want a biopic
Filed under: New Line, Celebrities and Controversy, Scripts
Supermodel-cum-bounty-hunter Domino Harvey died last week, about a month before Tony Scott's film based on her life hits the streets. But don't start playing your tiny little violins for the poor girl who overdosed just in time to miss her own dramatization. As The Guardian reports, everything that made the fiercely independent Harvey interesting enough to make her life movie fodder, ultimately led to a fundamental dissatisfaction over her life's Hollywoodization.Harvey sold her life rights to New Line two years ago, but then bristled when the studio first denied her script approval, and then glossed over certain aspects of her life - specifically, her bisexuality. "Domino sees it as an insult that the producers are selling it as her life story, when they are completely overlooking what she regards as a pretty basic part of her life," a friend of Harvey's was quoted as saying earlier this year. New Line's response? "[O]ur film is not intended as a biographical piece, hers was the dynamic personality and indomitable spirit that spawned an exciting adventure, not just on screen, but in real life." Which is, of course, the exact kind of evasive pap Harvey probably would have hated.

It is always a joy to know that some addict died from an overdoze. I have no sympathy to anyone who wants the thrill of the moments. Call me jaded. There are those who spend thier entire life dealing with reality as it comes and do not involve themselves with drugs. Glad that another loser lost to the drugs. Keep them coming.

Well, like it or not, her life is now complete (thanks to her) and that pretty much sums up the story. Domino's story is truly a facinating one and her tragic end only adds to the mystique. I would tend to think that Tony Scott's film now covers most of her life.

Addicts can recover and many of them want to. Only 3% actually pull it off but 3% is better than none. Truthseeker should be ashamed to wish death on anyone.I got addicted to painkillers due to a back injury and am 1 year in recovery thanks to NA. Domino may or may not have wanted recovery but a true loser is someone who makes hateful unintelligent comments like yourself. I'm a recovering addict w/ a beautiful wife 2 awesome kids and a $90,000 a year career. God be with her.

Typical Hollywood! Don't mention the bisexuality in case it upsets the sensitives among the audience. ALEXANDER may have been a mess but at least Oliver Stone hinted at the proclivities of its protagonist.
R I P Domino.

Two things:
1.) Truthseeker should be banned, or at least suspended for that comment. He's a schmuck anyway, so it's not exactly a loss to the forum.
2.) They could have made a movie in which Keira Knightley plays a bisexual, and they didn't?
That's why I'm not going to the movies anymore.

I'm gonna continue posting on this thread every few hours, solely in order to keep it in the news.
No one who visits this site should fail to read the astonishingly ignorant and grotesquely malicious comment offered by "Truthseeker" above.

Eight hours later, and nothing can dull my disgust.
I'd call Truthseeker's remarks fascist, but that would be somewhat of a disservice to Mussolini.
Let this fool post here only if...
A.) Each week, he performs four hours of volunteer service at a methadone clinic, and supplies the Cinematical staff with proof to that effect, or...
B.) He mails me one of his typing fingers, stuffed and mounted on a walnut plaque, or...
C.) He changes his handle to "Soul of a Pig", and writes a formal apology to all concerned...which must contain the phrase "I am a vicious idiot" at least a dozen times.

I knew Domino personally and she was a very bright and intelligent girl. Although many years ago she did have a drug problem she went to rehab and has been clean since. Dont believe everything you read on the news. As far as truthseeker is concerned I am sure there will be the same kind of comment posted when he dies.
