George Miller has gone Mad, again?
Filed under: Action, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, RumorMonger
Director George Miller's plans for a fourth Mad Max film hit a brick wall when the war came along: "The American dollar crashed and it was almost impossible to ship
vehicles to our location. We had a deadline, and we couldn't meet it." The filmmaker tells Australia's Empire Magazine that even though the film's production offices (at Sydney's Fox Studios) have been vacated, and Mel Gibson is no longer attached, he still hopes to make the fourth film.
"The last thing I wanted to do is another Mad Max, but this came along, and I'm completely carried away with it," Miller told Empire Magazine. Miller still hopes to return to the project after his next film, Happy Feet, is finished. But does the world need another Mad Max film?

Yes, the world does need another Mad Max film. Passion Of The Gasoline. Because of everything that is going on in climate change, peak oil, and rising tensions in oil prices and oil producing countries' politics. If he doesn't make the next one soon, it will just end up a documentary.

I hope they never make another Mad Max. It has been too long. Beyond Thunderdome was bad enough, I hope George doesn't try to make a 4th.
Mel Gibson is Max, no one else can

If the 4th movie would have actor Mel Gibson playing the role and another Interceptor could somehow be worked into the script, then sure - those of us that loved the Mad Max trilogy will certainly want to see it. It would have to be done right however... as I felt like the 3rd in the series did not quite live up to the first two. I guess that's because I always was nuts about the cars (speed and power) and they just weren't around in the third movie. As an American, it was a thrill to see these unknown (to us) Aussie musclecars battling it out on the open road.
