The Black Belt Club
follows Max, a young black belt, who is

must rescue the world-sustaining Tree of Life. Its trunk holds seven
wheels of power, which are stolen by the villainous Master Mundi. Hand
Picked Films & Gravity Entertainment bought Dawn Barnes' children's
book for mid-six figures. Hand Picked and Gravity plan to turn this
12-book franchise into an
animated television series, direct-to-DVD movies, video games and
feature films.

search of the world's most important and dangerous substance, a new
form of ice that freezes at room temperature in the Cat's Cradle. Appian Way & Elkins Entertainment bough the rights to Kurt Vonnegut’s novel which will be adapted to screen by father and son duo James V. Hart and Jake Hart. James wrote the screenplay to Contact but has since written a Muppet Treasure Island and Tomb Raider/
- Warner Bros. Pictures bought The Big House based on an original pitch. The story follows a hard-working family man, whose life improves when he's accused of a white-collar crime on the job. Our Lips are Sealed scribes Elizabeth Kruger and Craig Shapiro wrote the family comedy script. Showtime and Shanghai Noon director Tom Dey will helm the project. I'll rent it...
- 20th Century Fox bought Tokyo Ghost Story, a supernatural thriller written by Earth vs. The Spider scribes Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon. The story follows Yurei, the ghost of a jilted lover, who commits suicide but returns to lead the offending lover to destruction and/or death. The story is based on a Japanese myth.
