IESB caught up with the Co-Chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment Tom Rothman at the premiere of Fantastic Four, where Rothman revealed that Ridley Scott may be interested in making a fith Alien movie: "Every time I see Ridley Scott he still talks about Alien so there's always a possibility of him doing the next one", he says. "I don't think it's near-turn, I think he has a couple of other movies he wants to do first, but we have a deal with Ridley and it's always possible". Rothman says that first up for the studio is the sequel to the horrible but money making Alien vs.Predator movie, which should hit theaters sometime by 2007.

May Scott will have his new "Alien" set during the dark ages with lots of sand and lots of scandals, some swords and a couple of horses.

One can only hope that the next Aliens, when they make it, not if, follows the Batman Begins trend and takes the series back to horror/sci-fi roots.
Alien Resurrection was a complete peice of crap, at least, as far as the plot goes. I'd like to have a mix of War of the Worlds and Aliens, where either a starship crash lands on a planet *completely* infested with the Aliens and thus have to escape/avoid them (sort of like a Pitch Black set in the Aliens universe), or set waaaaay in the future when a colony of Aliens has evolved and learn to work human technology, adapting it to their own species, and invade say........Mars? Earth? Another human colony?
Only, lets make it scary this time. I would kill to have an Aliens done the way Signs was done. More scare please, less popcorn action flick.

Oh great. Rothman screws up "Fantastic Four" with a handful of television actors, an too-low budget, and the director of "Taxi", gives "X-Men" to Brett Ratner, and ooks like he'll be giving more work to that hack Paul W.S. (What Script) Anderson.
