Chris Tucker holding out for final cut on Rush Hour 3
Filed under: Action, Comedy, Deals, Celebrities and Controversy
Rush Hour 3 could still happen - but only if Chris Tucker stops being a little bitch about it. Jackie Chan, the better half of that franchise's culture-clashin' buddy-cop duo, told the AP that Tucker's contract demands have held up the movie from going into production: "He wants too much power. The movie company hasn't obliged. He wants
final editing rights and the final look at the movie and so on." In the meantime, the clearly frustrated Chan is funnelling his efforts in what would seem to be a much more interesting project: a "galvanizing" martial arts-based film set in the 1980s, to be directed by House of Flying Daggers' Zhang Yimou.

Chris Tucker with final cut?
Doesn't the bible specify that as a portent for the End of Days. I think it's like the 6th Seal or something.
Shit...that's leaves only 1 to go. If Thomas Haden-Church wins an Oscar next year, we're really screwed.

Am I just high or is it weird for an actor, a man who calls himself Michael Jackson's friend no less, to have final cut?

Chris Tucker is a major player in the rush hour movies success. He should be able to make demands no matter who is friends with! He stands on his own. Make the movie with any other man and it will not be the same. make it with Chris tucker and get a big pay day. I am proud he is not money driven and has the resolve and brain to want more. Don't ask and you will not recieve. I see the movies he play in to see him. others that contribute are a welcome addition, but he draws to money from my pocket come show time.

well my comment is this, it's ok if chris tucker will ask for more but i think, not so much... remember that jackie chan plays also the D' major role on this series. and jackie is right chris must learn more he cannot just jump into another level just like that chris must prove something before he demands that much of a power. well i just hope that they will settle things out, coz im really looking forward of seing another rush hour movie...

My fears of Chris Tucker are coming true. I could tell as far back as the release of "Rush Hour 2" that Chris Tucker believes that he is more of a star than he really is. Yes, he has talent, but lasks charm, and now we all know that his ego is getting the better of him.
Some of the lessons Jackie has learned over the years is humility and sharing, and not making big demands until you've earned them and sometimes not even then! That is why everyone likes working with him.
And, as we saw at the end of the first "Rush Hour", Chris doesn't learn what he doesn't want to learn. (ie:Chinese or proper English. ^_^) So there is no talking to or convenincing Chris he needs to slow down.
And who will suffer? Us the fans! Without us buying movie tickets, Tucker is broke and unwanted in the business.

It wouldn't be so bad if Tucker actually had any talent to back up his ludicrous demands! Her's hoping he keeps asking for the final cut so that the company refuse to make the film! Another Chris Tucker movie is about as welcome as toothache!

MMM! Chris Tucker with final cut? The first 2 "Are Great Films" and Chris Tucker did not have final cut rights. So why have Chris ruin them. If he thinks he is so good let him make movies like Jackie Chan has done.

I am a black american that has been watching jackie chan moves since the seventies. Chis tucker is just an extra in the movies to get the black bussiness, I do believe that he can be replaced by another black actor that will draw even a larger audience. I watch jackie chan movies to see his martial arts but have been a little dissapointed because his movies don't really dislay his fighting abilities. He does more acting than fighting. My example is that steven sagal kicks that butt in his movies.

What's up everyone! Chris...Chris Tucker, well I don't really think that its bad to ask for more but he needa to relax! Is like saying, I want to sign a mexican song with Britney Spears at some concert right away. I mean come on, we all got limits. Hopefully he calms down and settles for what they give him, I mean we all want to see "Rush Hour 3", don't we?

well if many of you don't know chris stop makeing movies to get closer to God thats why he wants so much, they came to him not the other way around. Jakie chan does not sell rush hour chris does thats why they did not just say no and went to find sombody knew to do rush hour chris is the most important actor. They know billons of dollars will be lost with out him and jakie chan can hardly speak english some times i dot know what the hell he's even saying so he is nothing without chris but a chinese man with no backbone thats why he just takes what he can get as long as there is money involved

All I can say is that without chris tucker this movie would not be successful. What ever movie he's in it's a money maker film.No one cares about jakie chan, he's
easily replacable.Besides the movie goers are going to see the comedy and the vibe that chris brings.Who
cares about the same performances that jackie chan
brings. His performances is always the same in every
movie.Boring!!!Why not ask for more for yourself.Never
except what people offer. You always make your on offer and take it from there.I know these people are
not going to see rush hour because of jackie chan, trust me!Where was his fans at when Around the world in thirty days came out?Now that movie was a flop.It went straight to video. Now chris deserves final cut
writes and what ever else he wants. This movie is going
to be a huge money maker either way it goes, just because of chris tucker. So all you people who doesn't like it, tough cookies.I guarantee that you will go and see this movie and love it.Not because of what jackie chan brings but what chris tucker does.So show
him the money!!!! And people stop hateing.

are you kidding me about the Rush Hour movies being successful with Jackie Chan? When the first one came out, do you think people knew who Chris Tucker was? What other movies has he been a lead in? Actually let me rephrase the question, what other movies has Chris Tucker been in period? I'd say put Anthony Anderson to replace Tucker and the movie wouldn't skip a beat.

What a load of BS! Karina nets to get a clue. The only reason I can see for her comments is that she understands that by assailing a person of the notoriety of Mr. Tucker can she obtain notoriety, as the publicity seeking hound she is, is to accuse Mr. Tucker of being the hound she is. Mr. Tucker has Performed brilliantly, in every role he has had. This is reflected in his ability to earn upwards of 10-12 million per picture. Karina can't! The Fifth Element, Tucker was a character unlike any other, in Dead Presidents he was a "great junkie," in the Friday series he was sich a devestating character the final installment couldn't afford him. As to the Rush series, he is essential, he brings forth a depth and breadth that very few actors are capable of. He is an idiot, a fool, a lover, a s@$t talker, a BSer, a fighter, a cop, yet he comes off as a kind, tender and caring person. But what I like best are some of the lines in the Rush movies like "follow the rich white man!" Karina can't understand or understands all too well the import of those words. When white, black, yellow and other people of the rainbow are willing to shell out good money to hear such lines and to hear them coming from the lips of someone who looks and talks like Mr. Tucker something very profound is occurring. Mr. Tucker is speaking a language Karina can't understand or understands all too well. My question is, is it the former or the latter?

I don't believe this. Tucker wanting final editing rights?! HAHAHAHHAHAHHAH!!!!! Don't get me wrong, I liked the guy since he appeared on Friday with Ice Cube, but he is nowhere near the caliber of actor to be making such a crazy A$$ demand. i heard he went crazy after RS2 but damn! he has not been in as half as many movies chan has been in. chan has been a couple of movies with Bruce Lee and he does his own stunts! see some of his movies like supercop, 1st strike, police story and legend of drunken master and you'll see what i mean. so all of you who are saying let tucker have what he wants, yall are smokin somethin. and he can be replaced, but i would put mike epps from all about the benjamins or eddie griffin instead of orlando anderson.

First of all I would like to say that ace c. thomas doesn't know what he is talking about because Tucker makes Rush Hour. If you want to see a good martial arts movie, Rush Hour would not be the first choice. If you want to see a good comedy, Rush Hour will be #1. I don't believe that no other (black) actor could replace Tucker, it wouldn't even be the same. And as for Tucker making his demands, in order to step up your game you have to step up the additude. Theirs probably a good explanation why Tucker is asking what he is. The public will never know. But I tell you what if they do replace Tucker I know of one ticket sale they definatly will be loosing and I'm sure I don't stand alone. This is corporate America baby, YOU FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU WANT
