Oliver Stone offends gays
As we reported a couple of days ago, Oliver Stone is re-cutting Alexander for its DVD release. But is he cutting out all the good gay stuff? That's what this report alludes to: apparently gay activists are up in arms about the cuts that Stoney is making. Stone has made statements regarding his remorse over the picture's reception in more conservative segments of the country, such as: "Audiences want their war films straight. From the day we opened, we did not do business in the South." Stone's reputation is not a caution one; this leads into the GLAAD critique: "For someone known as a fearless, uncompromising filmmaker, Stone has really compromised his own artistic integrity."
Should Stone cut out those hot, hot scenes of implied lust betwixt Jared Leto and Colin Farrell? What do you think?

The success/failure of this movie had nothing to do with gay overtones. The premise was stupid and the casting was what kept me out of the theatre. To believe that Angelina Jolie could play the mother of someone who is her same age is laughable. Colin F. is not someone I would pay to see. His press has produced a negativity around him & I believe that he is hugely overrated. I also think Oliver Stone expects the public will want to see his pictures, good or not. The public will pay to see his pictures, but only if they are worth seeing. That is the opinion of a married mother of two in rural Wisconsin!

Was Alexander gay in real life? If so leave it in. Top Gun was about as heterosexual as you can get. It had guy stuff for the ladies.

No movie that features a bunch of guys in a bar who break out into an impromptu rendition of "You've lost that loving feeling" can be described as heterosexual.
