Women heroes
I found an interesting piece on women super heroes, including a few words from Joss Whedon about why he decided to take on the upcoming Wonder Woman movie as both writer and director. The article touches on other female superheroes as represented in movies like Fantastic Four, The Matrix, and the upcoming Aeon Flux movie. The article then repeats itself and ends in a confusing mess because someone over at The Olympian must have had some issues with cutting and pasting. Still a good read, though.

the production and reception of women super-heroes has traditionally been male-dominated -- it's hard to doubt that this has had a powerful mediating affect on what types of female super-heroes are created.

Probably in some cases, in others not so much. Have you ever watched Buffy?

But does the article explain why anyone would want to watch a movie about Wonder Woman? Does the target audience from the television show want to watch a movie about this?
