Tarantino Talks Up Future Projects
Filed under: RumorMonger, DIY/Filmmaking, Newsstand, Quentin Tarantino
Known for his bold casting and flashy films, Quentin Tarantino is denying rumors that he's already approached Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger about possibly acting in his next project, the WWII movie Inglorious Bastards. Although he admits to being a "big fan" of the ex-action heroes, he makes sure to note that all of this blabbering is just "speculation." So far the only concrete news regarding Bastards is that Michael Madsen is attached and Tarantino hasn't finished the script (1000 pages and counting?) yet. According to the reservoir dog himself, "I have like five years of writing behind me now and I just need to add one more year to it." Just one more year? Christ, why not take ten years to write the damn script Quentin? Maybe another ten to film it, and then leave three years at the end for the studio to split it into seven parts.
Those of you sitting there hoping that the end of this post will bring news of a future Vega Brothers film are in luck. Tarantino said he has figured out a way to do it "even though the character's have gotten older...I just have to have the ambition to write it." If that's the case, I'd get back to him in about twenty years.

The Inglorious Bastards Saga. With that many pages, he'll have to split up his single film into multiple episodes. Perhaps 9 in all. But of course, the only fun ones will be part of the middle trilogy and thus that's what he'll film first. Twenty years will go by and artificial demand will build up the hype for the new prequel series which will be totally dashed by a CGI created character voiced from the grave by Gilbert Gottfried to which the PC crowd of the time will complain about enabling stereotypes to persist in cinema. Not even spliced in edited material of the late Samuel L. Jackson will save the sequel trilogy.

Last time I checked, there were an awful lot of Dirty Dozen remakes and ripoffs. Of course, with QT at the helm, such an effort would automatically be designated an "homage." It must be hard for him to write a period film though, because you can't fill in tricky parts with pop culture references. No wonder it's taken him so long.
Still, it is good news that he's not trying to cast aging bodybuilders as WWII heroes. Well, yet. It could still happen, I guess. Speaking of silly, any guesses on whether or not Schwarzenegger would be cast as a German? Because he usually plays the All-American boy.

I would love to see Ahnold play a German, a Nazi. That would rule. But it would be a pretty ballsy move for him now that he's in politics. He'll never do it while he's itching for the presidency. Please God lets hope that the dirty Republicans never get to change that amendment. I would never acknowledge him as my president.
