Prayers did not de-lesbianize Anne Heche

Let's be honest: Anne Heche has her moments of crazy. But in the tabloid swirl it's easy to forget that she's also a pretty good actress - remember Walking and Talking? That said, let's dive straight back into the gossip: apparently, Heche's mother Nancy is running around claiming that she single-handedly turned her temporarily gay daughter straight through the power of prayer. Nancy Heche is even using Anne's name to promote anti-gay Christian events, referring to herself
as "a single parent who experienced the international media rush during
her daughter Anne Heche's highly visible relationship with Ellen DeGeneres." Anne's not happy about that. She tells the NY Daily News, "This nonsense about my mother praying for me is really making me
angry...The ex-gay events right now make me sick. And for anyone
who ever thought that Ellen and I broke it off because of sexuality,
you couldn't be more mistaken. And for anyone who thought my mother's
prayers had anything to do with me marrying a man, forget it." You'd think Anne could just drop her mom a note to say, "Hey, I'm not into you using my name to promote anti-gay causes," instead of taking her complaints straight to the media. But I ask you once again to refer to that whole "moments of crazy" thing.

I was at "Love Won Out" in Seattle back in June. I heard Nancy's testimony about how Anne "left her homosexual relationship" because of the love and prayer of her mother. I believe Nancy Heche is a good woman who is pained by the death of her gay husband and the news of her daughter being a lesibian/bi...(whatever). Being gay myself, I didn't agree with everything Nancy had to say, but i believe she has a loving heart and is hurting over both circumstances. I don't believe she's joined focus on the family to be in the lime-light.

Very true. Family matters should be settled at home rather than throwing it to the press. A person does not become gay or become not gay. A person's sexuality is born within that person and it is beyond anyone's control to be straight or gay. The fact of the matter is that Heche is bi-sexual.
