10,000 B(asically) C(rappy): Variety in 60 Seconds

Some lucky, lucky WB contract player is about to get his big, loincloth-clad break: Roland Emmerich is making a movie about young, attractive cavemen. 10,000 B.C., a drama "which follows three stages in the development of primitive man," including "a 21-year-old who lives among a primitive tribe." - Warner Brothers is working on simultaneously developing a film and video game around the same concept. Species X is "a drama about a police detective who realizes he might be from another world"; The Condemned: Criminal Origins is its videogame companion.
- James Brown and his wife are financing a documentary about the legendary soul singer, to be called Life on the Road With Mr. and Mrs. Brown. I can't decide if paying someone to make a documentary about you is total genius, or the tackiest thing I've ever heard.
- Michael Douglas is joining the cast of You, Me and Dupree, a comedy from Anthony and Joe Russo which already stars Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson.

Wow, a movie (a remake at that) that focuses on the intricacies & day-to-day challenges of primitive-woman/man? Now there's something I'll sign up to see...yeah, right!
(...what next?, "Beverly Hills, at 10,000 BC"?)
Another screaming example of just how lacking of good subjects/plots Hollywood has become...
