Is Katie carrying not Tom's, but Rosemary's Baby?
Filed under: Classics, Horror, Celebrities and Controversy, Tom Cruise
Is it surprising that Katie Holmes' parents are pissed that she's carrying Tom Cruise's baby? No, not really – after all, they're pretty devoutly Catholic, and Katie *was* supposed to be a virgin and all. According to Life & Style Weekly, Martin "Father of Katie" Holmes had made Tom "Biggest Star in the World" Cruise promise to "do the right thing" and marry his daughter before he knocked her up. When the news broke that Katie's fiancee had willfully defied that order, the elder, male Homes apparently flew into a finger wagging rage: "You're no good," he told Cruise. Now Holmes' family and friends are apparently concerned that Katie has been – wait for it – brainwashed by Tom and his fellow Scientologists. A "friend" told the magazine, "They wonder if it’s a Rosemary’s Baby situation, where Katie is being groomed to provide Tom with a child.” What's more unsettling: the idea that Tom Cruise implanted young Miss Holmes with Satanic semen? Or that the good name of a Roman Polanski film has been sullied by such circumstances?

True. However, Rob McKittrick is our new general-purpose scapegoat.

There is something sinister about Cruise. His life and career has always been schrouded by unflattering rumors and his actions and words give every indication that most of these rumors are in fact true. Has Holmes been hypnotized or her body abducted by something truly evil? This whole scenario would be a nice basis for a science fiction flick. They could play themselves. It could be a docu-horror like we've never seen before. Might even win an Academy Award.

I doubt there is anything sinister going on here. **News Flash** people sleep together before “marriage” (The ceremony I am referring to here.)
Now the reason behind no protection...interesting. I called Katie on her 21st birthday to wish her the best, but she was out with Joshua Jackson; her dad seemed conservative. Let’s try something new and give Katie and Tom the right to be human. I do want to raise this question though; if Adam and Eve were married in the eyes of God what ring or notification did they have to proclaim that event to the world? I believe the sanctity of marriage remains only in the hearts of the two involved.

If Tom would only keep his mouth shut and keep his beliefs to himself, people would be more open to news of a normal nature. Yes, people have sex before marriage and people get married after the fact. I really don't care. Talk about your movies and your career in general and perhaps things would be different.

Is there really any question at this point that Katie has been, and is being, brainwashed by Tom and his fellow Scientologists? Isn't that about as plain as the nose on your face? A few years down the road, Katie is going to be a very miserable woman who is bemoaning her stupidity surrounding the chapter in her life called "Tom." Several months ago I bet some friends that Tom would latch onto the first "young thing" he could infuse with the poison that is Scientology. I won some money on that one. I'm luckier than Katie, but most of us are.

It is Tom who has been brainwashed. Isn't it obvious? don't care about Katie, she should have said she doesn't accept scientology, that's all

I have always had a huge crush on Tom Cruise since I was about 12 years old, through to adulthood. I must say this past year has left me dumbfounded regarding Tom's behavior. He has a young girlfriend "who doesnt in hollywood", but his absolute lack of respect for Katie and her parents regarding this pregnancy is very tacky. I always thought he was a classy and respectable person. His religion does not impress me at all, "aliens inhabit the earth?". Most of all his factisious knowledge regarding psychology is a discrase. I am majoring in child psychology;I lost all respect for the man when he started spouting his knowledge and opinions regarding anyone with mental instability. I certainly hope for Katie's sake she maintains emotional success after having their baby.
