It's the Cinematical Halloween costume contest!

It's only one short week until Halloween, and here at Cinematical we're in a festive mood. So, we decided: what better way to celebrate the spookiest of holidays than with a movie-inspired costume contest? Here's the deal, folks. You send us a digital image of you wearing your wildest, craziest, most inventive movie-themed Halloween costume. We will pick the winner, and the winner will get a really fabulous prize. How fabulous?

How about the Val Lewton Horror Collection on DVD? Cat People/ Curse of the Cat People / I Walked with a Zombie / The Body Snatcher / Isle of the Dead / Bedlam / The Leopard Man / The Ghost Ship / The Seventh Victim / Shadows in the Dark!!! All for you!

We know we have a pack of brainy, creative geniuses out there among our readership, so we have high expectations that we will have a hard time choosing the winners. We'll post pictures of the prize winner, and maybe even of a few runners-up as well. Fame, glory, and awesome prizes - what more do you want in a contest?

Rules and other boring stuff below the fold:

1. Your picture must include you, the entrant, (or a minor child if you are submitting a picture of a child's costume) wearing a costume inspired by a film.

2. Pictures must be acceptable for publication on Cinematical. No costumes that are obscene or show nudity will be considered.

3. "Couples" contests (i.e., Bonnie and Clyde) are acceptable, but if a couples picture is chosen as the prize winner, only one prize will be awarded to that winning entry. Prize will be awarded to the person submitting the entry.

4. Email a digital photo in .JPG, .PNG, .GIF, or .PSP format to the following email address: costumecontest@cinematical.com .

5. Deadline for submitting entries is 11:59PM EST, Tuesday, November 1, 2005. Entries received after the deadline will not be considered. We are not responsible for delays caused by technical difficulties, slow mail servers, mistyped email addresses, etc. If it's not in our inbox by the deadline, it will not be considered.

6. All photos submitted become the property of Cinematical, and by submitting them you agree that we can use the photo on our website.

7. Winners will be announced on Friday, November 4, 2005 and your prize will be ordered and shipped to you shortly thereafter.
