Radcliffe: Kill Harry!

Daniel Radcliffe is really not working on pleasing his fans right now.
In the middle of promotions for the forthcoming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the boy
is being just a mite too honest about his feelings towards his
character, and is most likely throwing message boards into a tizzy.
Just days after casually mentioning that he might not want to play
Harry Potter forever, the boy has announced that he thinks JK Rowling
ought to kill off his character in the final book in her massive,
zillion dollar series. It's not a token, tear-jerking death, though. Oh
no. Radcliffe wants Harry to sacrifice himself for the forces of good -
if he was writing the series, he'd have Harry have "to die in order for
evil Voldemort to die." Said the young wizard, "I wouldn't want it to
be sentimental. I don't like sentimental ends to books or films. I think that would undermine the darkness the rest of the books have." Dang, Dan. While it sounds good to me, but I wonder what fans of the series would think if it ended that way. Would it make the whole thing not worth it if the hero died?

i do hope harry will die...it's not like i don't like him. I LOVE HARRY POTTER. it's just, the book will have more meaning, it'll go deeper if it shows Harry sacrificing his life for a good cause and to defeat Voldermort. oh, and i read in a book (an actual book that was published and has CORRECT facts) that J.K Rowling wrote an afterword on what happens to the characters after the seventh book. but she doesn't say who's going to live through the seventh book. so she might actually publish something that tells what happens to the the characters (like Ron or Hermione) when they get older.
...isn't that cool?

I think harry dying in the last book would be a good idea. I mean, after all of that misery in the books I dont want a super happy- OMG! harrys alive and he can live a happy life with whoever, have 30 kids, become minister whatever. to die to save all he can is how harry Im sure would like to go.

i really want Jo(j.k.rowling)to keep writing about Harry and Hogwarts, but i understand if she does stop writing about him because the 7th book would be his last year @ Hogwarts. I AM HARRY POTTER'S BIGGEST FAN!!!!!!!! i think she should write about Harry being with Ginny and Ron and Hermione though.

man i agree half with dan and half agree with happy ending but i think is a good idea if harry potter dies but is not really him that dies is just the half that was bond with voldemort but when he die every is very sad but some how he revive
cause remmber how dumbodore said no magic can bring the dead back to live
wouldn't people like it better if the hero can do something that was assume impossible

dude, jk's not gonna kill off her main character- there would be riots....and if she does, well i have a theory to that. since either harry has to kill voldemort or vice versa, obviously ONE of them has to die. and guys, its not like jk is gonna end the series with voldemort winning. there's an obvious one. however, harry and voldemort could BOTH die, like they end up killing each other, hence, voldemort is killed but harry also is in the process....but if jk does this, im sorry but theres NO WAY she can get around this without it being sentimental (sorry dan). even if she doesn't mean it to be, come on, everyone will cry anyway....but hey- its her book, so we'll see...ooh, cant wait!

I actually completely agree with the idea and have been thinking the same thing. Although my friends dont agree with me. Harry is the final Horcrux and must be killed in the end and has a piece of Voldemorts soul in him according to the Chamber of Secrets. Even though the Prophecy says one must die while the other lives..the prophecy hasn't always been true nor has the prophecier. Therefore Harry must die to get rid of all the Horcruxes to kill Voldemort, since that will make him mortal Snape can kill him off once Harry is dead and can't kill him himself.

Harry die? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I mean my cousin she is like 8 will be devastaed and what is it showing kids good doesnt always win? Personally i reckon he should kill Voldermort but come out like really ingered and Ginny looks after him! Plus Ron and Hermionie get Married but i dont care i know J.K Rowling will do the best thing. And woudnt it be kool if the 7th book is so book that they made it in to 2 kinda like they where going to do for the 4th Harry Potter Movie!!!!

I THOUGHT EACH OF THE ACTORS DOING A FINE JOB, YOU CAN'T REPLACE HARRY HE IS THE MAIN CHARACTER & YOU NEED THE OTHERS TO STABLIZE & GIVE BALANCE TO EACH OTHER. ENOUGH WITH THE HP/LOTR COMPARISONS!!!! It's rather insulting to a masterpiece like J.R.R. Tolkien's books, and I personally think that Harry should die--whiney little jerk that he is--and the series sheould be ended. I mean, I like the books as much as the next person, but it NEEDS TO END.

i'mtorn between harry dying and living, it'll be an interesting twist ifhe does, but itll be terrible, but then agenshekilled sirius and Dumbledore off, so theresalways drama, but i ave a feeling that hermione will die for sum reason,i dunno but i thinkshe will but i ont want her too

Arthur Conan Doyle tried to kill off Sherlocke Holmes at one time because he was sick of writing about him, and the fan base was so vocal he ended up finding a way to bring him back, and we've had Sherlocke Holmes in one form or another ever since and I think we always will. I think the same thing will happen, one way or another with Harry Potter. Dan Radcliffe bless his heart, is a wonderful actor and does the Harry Potter part better than anyone I can imagine, but there will be other Harry Potter's long after Dan has grandchildren and long after JK is turning up daisies somewhere. Harry Potter is a classic, and you aren't going to see an end to him anymore than and end to Peter Rabbit or Winnie the Pooh, or Sherlocke Holmes... not that they have any relevance to each other.
