Adam Baldwin Gets Thirsty

Fangoria is reporting that Serenity star Adam Baldwin will star in Thirst, a new vampire movie from director Jeremy Kasten. Alongside
Oh boy, another vampire film. I can’t quite figure out how this film is much different from most other vampire film, as Altman claims it to be. Vampire meets girl, vampire wants girl, blood. Repeat step three as often as inhumanly possible. Don’t get me wrong, not every vamp film meets that standard; there are several notable and enjoyable exceptions. Maybe we’ll get lucky and this one will be worthwhile. Thoughts based on this early info?

I'm down with a new vamp flick. Altman still owes us for House of the Dead.

If you're looking for an interesting take on vampires, take a look at the second Vampire Hunter D film, Bloodlust. It may be English-only, but the film reminds us of what makes anime such an interesting medium and why vampires are such great subject matter.
On another note, it's great to see Adam Baldwin in a starring role for once. The man deserves it.

I really wish the studios would cool it with vampirism. Its time for a break after Buffy and Blade.
We still have *Ultraviolet* (which is not an adaptation of the ultra-cool British tv mini series), *30 Days of Night*, and *Underworld II* coming out. I didn't even mention the atrocious *BloodRayne* (the movie being atrocious, not the games). There's the *Castlevania* flick. And apparently Warner Bros. Pictures is hellbent on releasing in some form *I Am Legend*.
I haven't been stoked (or staked) about *I Am Legend* since about 1998 when Warners was in negotiations with Kurt Russell to take over the role of Robert Neville as well as Bruce Wayne/Batman in their project at the time. Since then, they've flirted with Michael (yuck) Bay directing, and miscasting Will Smith in the role. Terrible. And the screenplay is still bollocks (as the British say) in my opinion too.
So in conclusion, can we please stop for a while the vampire flicks?
Signed,
A plasma drained fan
ps. what next? A sequel to *Life Force* directed by Bryan Singer and starring Brandon Routh? Now that would truly suck!

-the vampyric death of William Shatner
ps. Adam Baldwin is definitely the coolest Baldwin brother. Hopefully he survives the Canadian sneak-attack.
