If you are a regular reader, you know how I felt about the
Alien vs. Predator movie. If you aren’t, you can probably guess. I felt the same way that all of
America felt. And just when I was starting to get over the pain, this news comes along from Variety:
Paul W.S. Anderson, the man responsible for
A v. P is at it again. And what is he going for this time? One of the most beloved video game series of all time, and a personal favorite of mine-
Castlevania. That’s right, the story of the
Belmonts and their legacy of protecting mankind from Dracula (okay, so maybe it’s not solid gold as a story…but I never said it should be a movie) is now in the filthy hands of Paul Anderson.
Crystal Sky Pictures obtained the rights to the movie and took it straight to him; production will begin in mid-2006.
My soul hurts.

Haha, well this project sounds like it could prove interesting. I'm always in support of a video game movie, even if it's one that I never really followed.
Still waiting on an American Legend of Zelda movie.
How about Street Fighter 2: Turbo? Would be great, though the problem would be finding a replacement for Raul Julia. I think they should CGI his likeness and have him come back in spirit in the movie, Advent Children-style.

As someone who has been playing video games for 23 years, I find this completely insulting. This is a slap in the face to gamers everywhere.

Please...Paul Anderson shouldn't do anymore of these games to movies thing...i mean just because he's been doing it for quite some time, it means he's a "vet" and the studio executives therefore trust him? GIVE ME A BREAK! NONE of his movies were good! Except Event Horizon. His Resident Evil franchises SUCKED! NOTHING felt like any spirit in the games. AVP...well. Let's just say God made a mistake.

As a faithfull follower to the castlevania series, i would like to say that i am actually thrilled that they want to make a movie out of an awesome story (even if it is not solid gold) as is the belmont's legend, yes i know that they handed the job to someone who probably haven't even seen a single castlevania in his life and whom shouldn't even be in the film industry destroying such potentially good game stories for the big screen, but i hope very much that at least someone who is going to work with him slaps some sense into him before an aberration of nature is created, the only thing that's left for us to do is cross our fingers..........
