When Kirsten Dunst revealed the villainous cast for Spider-Man 3, there was (quite understandable) wide-spread flipping out about the casting of Topher Grace as Venom. What was sort of forgotten during the frenzy is that
What do you guys think of Church in the role? Does the picture fulfill your expectations?

Actually...he's not a bad cast. He seems to have buffed up a bit for the role.

well i think church is a perfect choice...every actor has been perfect for the spidey films...dafoe...molina..church....an i know this is surprising an hard for you all to take but grace is also a good fit for venom.....yes you all think venom is suppose to be huge...but...he wasnt always huge...an if ppl can remember the suit is really what gives eddie[venom] the buffness..an grace is wrkin out for his part so stop the crying ppl...raimi has done the best job on the films..nobody could have done better....an im speaking as a long time spidey fan since i was 3....and ive been a bigger fan of venom i own every venom comic...an your all askin for them to ruin something good if you want the films an characters to be exactly like the comic..look at ock..he had a costume, was fat, had old man sun glasses and a bull cut..[did he look anything like that in the movie no]same with norman and harry..dafoe an franco were great choices but realitively look nuthing like the comic versions...so final note...TOPHER GRACE WILL MAKE A GREAT VENOM

I don't get it. This could be a picture of Thomas crossing the street to by a pack of gum. What does this have to do with Spiderman?
An appeal: Whoever is making Spiderman 3 will probably put out some meaningless triva about the movie every day for the next two years, so that Cinematical and other outlets will post about Spiderman everyday for the next two years. BREAKING NEWS - Stripes on Thomas Haden Church's shirt confirmed to be 2 inches wide, not 1.5 inches as originally believed!!!!!! Please resist the urge to report this non-news.

Actually Myron, it is official news, so chill out. It was on the official Spider-Man 3 website. So all your hostility isn't really neccessary :-)

His arms should be bigger or he should be more muscular overall...

It works for me- Glad to see he buffed up a bit.
On the topher grace casting- Wasn't venom's alter ego an older meaner guy? Not a peter look-alike

Looks pretty much spot on (although I've not read the original sandman story for a few years). Visually at least, they seem to have cracked it.

Sandman was one of my favorite villains when I was a kid, and I think Haden looks pretty cool. Can't wait for SM3.

Actually, I seem to remember Sandman wears shirts that look just like the one in the pic. I think it was on the cover of an Amazing spiderman issue.

Right on! Church has the acting chops to play this role to the hilt. Props to the wardrobe folks for getting the costuming correct. Yes, Church appears to have buffed up for the role of Flint Marko. While I'm not too thrilled about Venom, I can't wait to see the FX with Sandman! Ready for SM3 now!

this photo is from: "Where's Waldo? - The Movie!"
apparently this is waldo's older, meaner brother and is the reason waldo goes into hiding.
sure it looks like sandman from spider-man 3, but i've got my fingers crossed for waldo.
