Daniel Radcliffe dating older woman?
Filed under: RumorMonger, Celebrities and Controversy, Newsstand
Does Daniel Radcliffe have a girlfriend? Rumors are swirling that the 16-year-old actor, who has won the hearts of millions of young girls as wizard hero Harry Potter, has become more than friendly with a trainee hairdresser seven years his senior. As Karina pointed out when we were discussing this story, if the situation was reversed, and Radcliffe was a 23-year-old guy dating a 16-year-old, this wouldn't be as much of a story.
It's that whole Demi Moore-Ashton Kutcher thing that gives the tale (which, we should point out, Radcliffe's publicist vehemently denies) a bit of a "hmmmmm" factor. Tell us what you think: is it ridiculous for the media to make a big deal out of this story, just because the maybe-girlfriend in question is older than the actor? Or do you think it's really only a story because of who Daniel Radcliffe is, and because he has that swoon factor over so many young girls (and maybe more than a few women, to boot)?

Uh, it would be a story either way. It they are intimate, it would be called statutory rape. What the heck does this have to do with Moore/Kutcher? If this is true, it has everything to do with some very bad judgment and/or money grubbing on the part of a 23 year old woman, and nothing to do with a couple of adults who got married.

This happened to Edward Furlong and we all know what happened to his film "career." And considering Potter's hair in that photo he should dump his hairdresser.

Actually, if the relationship is restricted to the UK (or other European countries), it would not be statuatory rape. The age of consent in the UK is 16 for both sexes.

First while are we dwelling on this? Daniel's reps have already explained they are friends and nothing more. Second it's Dan's business to see whom ever he likes. He is an actor, but he is entitled to a private life so let's allow him to have one OK?

You should really go out with someone your own age cause that could make it look like child abuse on her and you just want to get her in to trouble. So in our opion you can stay with older women but like they say the older they are the less time they have with you,and for that matter I really liked you I would never think that you of all people would date on older more experieced women and you are just a teen like me and you might want to have more then just a girl think of all those girls that like you over the entire nation how much you've grown to girls younger that really like you but this is just our opion.
Thanks
Love ya!!!!
P.S. you have your whole life ahead of you, you will find the right one ok!!
love ya Peace out

Yeah, as it was pointed out, the age of consent in the U.K. is 16. See, in European countries, the age of consent is lower because they teach students comprehensive sex education so they don't have the teenage pregnancy problem that we have here in America because some parents want to bury their heads in the sand and/or hide behind God's robes when confronted with the fact that people (teens included) have a biological drive towards procreation. Our age-of-consent laws in most States have more to do with trying to cynically reduce teen pregnancy rates (and thus the welfare roles) than out of any actual concern about personal rights/responsibility and such.
I really wish some people would get a clue and realize this is the 21st Century.
I should note that not all States have the age set at 18.

First, how many people could he possibly date? (Making movies is very time consuming, thus he doesn't have free time to "mingle".) How many sixteen-year-olds could he know? He doesn't have the ability to "mingle" because he's so well known; he can't just go to the local hangout to meet people. Last, the biz is going to force our little Harry Potter to grow up really fast. Look at what happened to Drew Barrymore. And ya know, if he is dating the hairdresser from the movie, give him [and her] a break...he's only 16. Do you know what it's like to be ostracized by people for who you date? Okay, now multiply that by the whole world buzzing about it...poor Daniel.

Firstly, we don't know that they are going out - so from that point of view it really is nobody elses business.
If they are going out, as has already been pointed out, then they are entitled to privacy - again nobody elses business.
The people most involved with this are Dan, his girlfriend (if this is so) and Dan's parents. It's really up to them.
From the age point of view, that is interesting as my friend is married to a man 16 years her junior, and I am living with a man 7 years my junior. What's the problem?
There is nothing illegal going on here.I think what I am trying to say is: It really is nobody elses business.

Did that person above type their comment to Potter? Are they crazy enough to think that Potter will read this website or that comment? Where are their parents to put them in the loonie bin?

Can I point out to Finished.Law.School that the fictional character is Potter and the actor who plays him is called Daniel Radcliffe.
This article is about Dan Radcliffe allegedly dating a woman 7 years his senior. I seriously doubt that Dan will ever know that these comments have been made, but, as they are in response to the question "should the press be writing about Dan and his girlfriend", then these comments are relevant.

As a woman 25 yrs Daniels senior, this young man has a good head on his shoulders. He wont do anything to mess up his life. And it sounds like he has awesome parents to back him up. I think they have done a great job. Just leave his private time alone and go see his movies.

Aren't ALL women "older women" to a 16 year old? Personally, if he's gonna date an older woman, I'd like it to be me. Just don't tell my husband.

I don't believe that Daniel Radcliffe, my favourite actor, would date a woman who is 7 years older than him. I don't believe about it!!! The next thing is,
" Daniel, can u check your club in hi5.com??? I have posted two letters for you. Thank you! " Another thing, I would like to be his girlfriend, but I know that I can't be because I know that I can only be his fan or his friend.

I think that as long as Mr, Radcliff is in the buisness, the media, and the world in general will delve into his buisness,as they do all other actors, and actresses. Its a fact of the trade. I dont think of it as right or wrong in this case,as I dont have all the facts, I dont read the tabloids,or follow all the gossip. Like someone said, he,s 16,of leagle age, maybe him and the young lady have alot of common interests. my first bf was 10 yrs my senior(i was 18) so I dont really have any problems, its not my buisness, I dont think he would do something to tarnish the "potter" image,he might even have "no-no,s" in his contracts about how he conducts himself. I love the books, as well as the movies. I dont think there could be another Harry Potter as great as him. From what I understand he keeps very buisey,so if he can get away for a bit of time with a friend ,who cares? Looks to me like his parents have raised a great young man,and continue to do so.I have 2 teenage sons as well as a toddler,so I know its not easy. I say"Have a good time Daniel,be carefull, and dont stay out to late"!lol (we,re all fans here)!
