Oprah thought Cruise was lying about being in love
Filed under: RumorMonger, Celebrities and Controversy, Newsstand, Tom Cruise
Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, on Good Morning America to promote her two-decade anniversary DVD, talked about the infamous interview with Tom Cruise when Cruise professed his undying love for Katie Holmes and danced a jig on her couch. Winfrey says she, like pretty much everyone else on the planet, wasn't buying Cruise's declarations of love. "I was not buying--not buying or not buying," Winfrey said of Cruise. "That's why I kept saying 'you're gone, you're really gone'."
No word on what Winfrey, who has long been a champion for women, thinks about the creepier aspects of the Tom-Kat relationship: Holmes dumping her longtime PR person for Cruise's sister, then dumping the sister, along with Cruise, for another PR rep; Cruise's insistence on referring to Holmes as "Kate", when her career was built on the name "Katie"; Catholic-raised Katie converting to Scientology and planning a Scientology-approved birth; and, most recently, Katies' revelation she will dump her career to stay home and raise Tom's babies.
Boy, I'd love to see Oprah have Katie on her show, sans Tom, so she could give her a good girlfriend-to-girlfriend Oprah-esque grilling: "Girl, what in the hell are you thinking??" -- but Tom and the Scientologists would probably never allow "Kate" off her leash long enough for that to happen.

Kate is not allowed out of the house without someone holding the leash of scientology. You will never see her anywhere without that ball and chain.

All her friends call her Kate, you idiot.
"planning a Scientology-approved birth;"
NO, she never said anythings, you are gullible.
"Katies' revelation she will dump her career to stay home and raise Tom's babies"
NO she never said that.
Oprah "I love you Tom" "oh and the Nobel Prize was so fun with you" "Ka-tie, Ka-tie Ka-tie" "have you ever felt like this before?"
Oprah is a bitch.
He was no more fake than Oprah is with all her guests. She LOVES every guest that comes on her show. Also, if he was such a good friend why would she bust him like that? She's now doing what she accused him of, promoting her sad little DVD. This is similar to Ice T when he jumped on the "I hate Omarosa" bandwagon. Everyone is standing on the shore laughing and waving at the sinking "Cruise" missile and Oprah, forever the opportunist, decided to join in.
She put this show on her DVD? and the others Tom's ones?

Tom and Katie are in love. That's all that matters. Why don't you give them a break. I've seen a lot of media whining. A few sad websurfers join in. But both have done well in their careers (e.g. Collateral was great), and the box office showed it, public likes them. They don't perform for the media or the critics, they perform for the public. And on the Scientology point, don't talk about what you don't know about. Actually find out www.scientology.org or something like that. Personally, I help kids against drugs and saved 2 heroin addicts lives. A lot of Scientologists help like this, and it shouldn't be ridiculed. In fact, more people should put their shoulder to the wheel helping this society which is fast going downhill.

Yes, I agree that Oprah is a b***. But most media personalities and reporters ARE. Having worked as a bookkeeper for a media related organization, I can say with a degree of certainty that the people attracted to the reporting field either have very little sense of morality or are total victims on a warpath for revenge and everyone else is their target. There is no such thing as social or moral responsibility in this profession. The field is literally crawling with the scum of the earth, and so decent researcher/writers often seek employment elsewhere. Decent reporters who don't engage in yellow journalism these days are few and far between.

"And on the Scientology point, don't talk about what you don't know about." Well, Cyrus, I know who Lisa McPherson was and I know what the RPF is and I know what the Scientologists did to the Cult Awareness Network. www.xenu.net

What a bullsh*t article! This is not about Tom hating women or something, it's about bad mouthing Tom! So what if he wants to call her Kate?! Who cares! She apparently doesn't! And so what if she wants to be a stay-at-home-mum, there are lots of women who dream to be a mother and be there to see their children grow up! I think it is a very wise decision!! As if playing a part is 'everything'..., crap! You don't need to have a film career to be succesfull and certainly not nessecary to be HAPPY! History shows what happends with husbands and wives who spend lots of time apart from each other: they end up breaking up. Tom and Kate want to be together, enjoy their love and enjoy their child. Leave them alone and get a life! They sure do!!

To Laurel Laurel:
Off-topic bashing of a religion, dude (or dudette)!
Every day people in any given religion experience victories, happiness, sadness, tragedy and other things. Everyday Catholics are born, catholics die. Everyday Jews get married, other Jews get divorced.
Lisa McPherson was a person, and her story, while tragic, has little to do with her religion and a lot more with her overbearing mother and personal problems.
In terms of the RPF, I was in the RPF for a few months and, while it's not one of my fav memories, it was a fair program and a growth experience, not the supposed horror camp that loser critics on the Internet try to make it be. Also, what critics like you fail to say is that only LESS THAN ONE PERCENT of Scientologists work in the Sea Organization, and, of those, less than one percent are required to do the RPF program. So, out of millions, a few hundred who ELECT to do the program, and many of them graduate from it calling it a once-in-a-lifetime growth and learning experience.
Lastly, if you're gonna start posting off-topic religion-bashing links to websites, I'll post these:
www.liveandgrow.org
Times Must Change
"How not to feel victimized"
ScientologyHandbook.org
Now, let's get back On-Topic, shall we.
