James Bond used to be poor

One of the great things about the James Bond franchise is that it takes
place in a world of unimpeachable opulence – whether we're talking
about sports cars or supermodels, top shelf liquor or impeccably tailored suits, there's not a luxury anyone could want that they couldn't, with the snap of a finger, have. It's ironic, then, to learn that the man probably most identified with Bond was, before winning that role, a big ol' pleb. Documents recently uncovered indicate that Sean Connery earned just one pound a week as a milkman in 1940s Edinburgh. Connery worked many odd-jobs in the area throughout the period, including "barrow worker" and "junior horseman", before joining the army in 1948 and, eventually, heading to Hollywood in the mid-50s.

It doesn't mention the best job of all. Connery also worked as a coffin polisher.
