It's X3 day!

We know you're already tingling in anticipation of the (alleged) arrival of the X-Men 3 trailer at Apple today. Until it shows up, however, USA Today has something to tide us over: a new gallery of stills from the film.Among the pictures are first looks at a blue-haired Kelsey Grammer as Beast and Ben Foster as Angel, complete with a rather impressive set of wings. Foster actually looks very cool, though that could be because any pictures of a guy with wings looking out over a city make me think of Wings of Desire and are therefore inherently poignant. Also in the gallery are pictures of director Brett Ratner (who, disappointingly, is not decked out as a mutant) and series mainstays Storm (Halle Berry) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). Dammit, where the hell is Vinnie Jones?

Wow.... uhhh. The Kelsey Grammar thing still feels like a joke. I understand the character is supposed to be your everyday science teacher, but c'mon. He has to have a LOT more attitude than Kelsey Grammar can possibly pull off. That picture makes him look kinda sweet and cuddly compared to some of the other mutants we've had, like Nightcrawler (I was shocked at how well they did there, being that he's been a long-time favorite charcter of mine). Beast is supposed to be someone who strikes fear in those who don't take the time to understand him. That guy would just make me laugh if I saw him in the mall or something >_>

The pictures are awesome looking. I really liked Nightcrawler in X2, and wish he was back with the cast, but these two additions will kind of make up for it. I hope this movie is as good as the first two!
