More condescending marketing for Brokeback Mountain

Remember what I said about Brokeback Mountain not needing GLAAD's help to sell itself? Apparently, Focus Features agrees: witness, the de-gay-ification of The Gay Cowboy Film.

Propaganda aside, I love ANY pic with Ann Hathaway in it.

Is that a Photoshop creation? It looks like something Nick of CHUD(.com) would create, except there's no Star Wars characters in the background.
After what he did with *The Hulk*, I think minimizing Ang Lee's name would be a good thing. And I'm not talking about Ben Grimm either. . .

I for one am not fuming. But I do think that's about the most Orwellian thing I've ever seen.

I'd note that there's a strong chance that this ad 1) may be ironic -- that after all the "Homo on the Range" (to quote the SF Weekly's review headline) talk, this image might be a way of depicting the part of this film that people don't already know -- that both Ledger and Gylenhaal get married, have kids, etc. The Other possibility is that b) this ad may have been paid for -- and placed and crafted -- by Hathaway's P.R. firm to try and get her a Best Suporting Actress nod. ...

Yes, it had occurred to me too that it was just a way of getting Hathaway into the shot. I haven't seen the film yet, but I imagine their other options mostly involved her sobbing and tearing her hair out.

There really needs to be a poster of Heath and Jake eating pudding. I'm not interested in seeing the movie but that would help redeem its existence slightly.

That's so blatantly conservative it's hilarious. I personally can't wait for the next "Red Shoe Diaries" installment to feature a B&W photo of a little girl playing in her mommy's *red shoes*.

It's funny. I love how they picked a quote from 'Rolling Stone', I mean hasn't Fox News given this a review that would fit this ad?

Looks to me like they're trying to get the conservatives who don't pay any attention to the media into the movie. Then...SURPRISE! Look, penises!
