Snakes on a Plane is (are?) Inspiring and Hip

Variety reports a short spot on the upcoming Sam Jackson movie Snakes on a Plane (formerly titled Flight 121), saying that the film is starting to gather some serious buzz. Apparently, its title has already "inspired songs and merch." And if Variety is to be believed, the phrase is also entering the American pop vernacular as an "it could be worse" substitute. In case you don't know, Snakes on a Plane is a story about...well...snakes. On an airplane. They were released by a hitman attempting to take out an important witness, and the passengers have to "band together" in their efforts for survival.
I don't know if I actually believe Variety about the title of the film entering the vernacular, but I sure as heck am going to do my best to say it whenever possible. Especially in high end social situations, or when surrounded by my "pop cultural" aware hipster friends. They'll be telling me some story about the tough day they had, and I'll cleverly respond "Snakes on a plane!" thus demonstrating my hipness. My friends will all be impressed.

Um... you can spell "vernacular" but not "passengers"? ;-)
And btw, some of us have been on the "Snakes on a Plane" bandwagon for a solid year, since the project was originally titled "Snakes on a Plane" (it was later retitled "Flight 121" by the time shooting started, and then re-retitled "Snakes on a Plane" again before wrapping).

Snakes on a Plane is probably one of the few films I can think of that already has a diehard cult following and isn't even closed to being released.

I was already sick of people talking about this movie (not to mention wearing homemade shirts, and drawing cartoon interpretations of the title) six months ago! I, for one, will be boycotting this movie.
