Ryan Reynolds loves Beer
In what is perhaps the least shocking casting news of all time, adorable comedy genius Ryan Reynolds has joined the cast of Beerfest, the latest film from comedy troupe Broken Lizard. If you happen to be unfamiliar with these guys - the brilliant minds behind Club Dread and Super Troopers, don't you know - well, I'm right there with you. They've got an extensive website, and a fanbase whose devotion seems to verge on dangerous. Join them, if you like. But I digress. Beerfest has been rather alluring described as Fight Club with beer - I mean, how could that be bad? It's the story of "two brothers who go to Oktoberfest and stumble upon a super-secret centuries-old beer games competition." After being roundly defeated by a team of Germans in said competition, the humiliated Americans come home and assemble a team of their beer-game proficient countrymen "in order to go back to Germany and kick the shit out of the Germans." U-S-A! U-S-A!

Is it just me, or does that description sound NOTHING like "Fight Club with beer"?

Reynolds and Broken Lizard seem like they would be a good match. A great way to harness the talents of Reynolds. *Blade Trinity* might have been a flawed film, but Reynolds was always playing his A-Game every time he appeared on screen.
Can you imagine Reynolds and Carrey together in a single project?
