Director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven back in theaters

Ridley Scott's Kingdom
of Heaven, which opened last May to mixed reviews and disappointing domestic box office returns (though it
opened at #1 in the US, the film left the top 10 entirely inside of a month), is making a brief return to theaters this
week. Scott's director's cut, which adds a staggering 45 minutes to the 145 minute film, will start tomorrow in a single
theater in LA.Though few of the film's fans will be able to experience Scott's new epic on the big screen, it's safe to assume that this version will soon be available on DVD (I can't find a release date - please let us know in the comments if there is one). The original DVD release was a surprising hit when it came out, and Fox is surely drooling at the thought of the profits the new offering will bring in.

OMG! That's 45 minutes more torture? This movie is already one movie too long. Sorry Rid- sometimes you just strike out.

Blade Runner sucked when it was first released too. I might give it a second chance.

I hope that this version is soon released on DVD! The movie is great but I'm sure this version would be greatest!

People who have actually SEEN this version (all 6 of them) report that, at full length, virtually ALL of the things critics complained about in the Theatrical release were "fixed" - meaning, if Fox had released this version in the first place it would have been critically lauded and looking at awards instead of cut to ribbons for all of the background that was missing. I can't wait to see the whole thing. I'm just sorry FOX will profit from it. They don't deserve it after what they did to this film and all of the people who worked on it.
