From King Kong to Batman?

At last count, there were roughly 20 billion names swirling around the blogosphere in
connection with the role of The Joker in the Batman
Begins sequel. Out of the muddle, the three that seem to emerge most often are Paul Bettany, Crispin
Glover, and Lachy
Hulme, whoever that is. While second-hand reports suggest that Hulme
is unlikely to play the role and the Glover rumors have recently quieted, the Bettany talk is still going strong. And
now a new name can be added to the mix: King
Kong (and, lest we forget, Oscar winner) star Adrien
Brody has decided that he should get to play the role, though no one from the movie has actually ever approached him
about it. Said Brody, "I would love to play The Joker. I think he would be deformed and creepier." (Creepier
than what was never made clear.)I know we've asked about your Joker casting ideas a dozen times already, but does the Brody rumor do anything for you? Personally, I love Bettany and would be more than happy to see him in the role.

Bettany's too pale. Brody would be great. He has an extreme, edgy look about him that could only enhance his performance.

Take alook at "Batman: Dead End" to see why some people think Brody would be a good Joker. The actor in that short film looks very much like him.

Great. This is all I need. My gf thinks Brody's hot...though for the life of me, I can't understand why...I think he looks like Ichabod Crane. If I have to hear about how "hot" the Joker is the whole movie, it will totally ruin what will otherwise most likely be a very good sequel...

Too pale? Too pale to play a chalk white skinned character... what is he translucent? I'd prefer Bettany but Brody isn't a bad cast either.

Frankly, Bettany would be awesome in the role. He was the only character/actor in A Knight's Tale that was incredibly played, and he was truly awe inspiring in A Beautiful Mind (which I loved, mainly because good ole' Crowe was playing a role based on a real person which he is decidedly good at...not to mention the absolutely extraordinary Jennifer Connely (who I have liked since LONG ago (yes, even including movies like The Rocketeer and Career Opportunities!)))

I prefer Brody to the endless Crispin Glover suggestions (which would turn the whole project into panto). But in my cinematic heart of hearts, I still feel Christopher Eccleston is the actor to go with.
He probably would not be that good for promotional duties (although there weren't many for Batman Begins) and would flee from the role right after wrapping up the cameo in Batman Begins3, but he would give the most electrifying performance on-screen over any of the other suggestions.
And Liev better have the role of Dent tied up and the contract signed by now...

i really dont think brody would make a good joker for the film. yeah he might make up the look of THE JOKER but acting the part is key. no one will ever be able to out do cesar romero or jack nicholson. it'll be hard to find someone to pull off the role of evil/funny/getting my butt kicked all the time but feeling good about it villian. if brody ends up getting the part of THE JOKER he will have to do some serious studying up on the part. i personally dont think he can pull it off. thats just the MADJOKER'S opinion though!!
