Yesterday,
Martha reported that
Australian actress Rose Bryne probably has the role of Vesper Lynde in
Casino Royale all wrapped up. But
that's not stopping Michelle Yeoh from babbling a little bit of nonesense in an effort to get the producers to change
their minds. The star of
Memoirs of a Geisha is actually a 007 veteran – she played Bond Girl Wai Lin in
1997's
Tomorrow Never Dies. Apparently not getting the whole prequel aspect to
Royale, Yeoh told
reporters that she'd love to work with Daniel Craig (she called the blonde Bond "a dish") and would
"jump at the chance of doing another Bond movie, it was so much fun." This was then
reported
down
the
wires with zero
attention paid to the fact that an encounter between Yeoh's character and a
Casino-era Bond would make exactly
zero sense.

Is there a reason she would have to play the same character? Maude Adams played a different Bond girl (Bond woman?) to two different Bonds (Connery then Moore in "You Only Live Twice" and "Octopussy" respectively) why couldn't Yeoh?

What difference would it make considering the fact that there have been so many different men playing the role of Bond?
Your comment that Yeoh does not know what prequel means ignores this fact and is therefore irrelevant.

By the logic employed here, Judi Dench would be "babbling nonsense" if she discussed appearing in the new Bond -- and yet she is returning as M, making the whole "prequel" aspect of the film rather questionable, to say the least.

Nice opening title to your article--are you going down the gossip-columnist spiral? ...or are you already there?

Are you implying she doesn't understand English? Bit of a racial taint to this article if you hadn't noticed.

Like there is any sort of strict continuity in the Bond series anyway?
