Golden Globes: Patrick Dempsey, not pretty enough

Yep, you're right. The awards should be given out to the best looking people. Acting has nothing to do with it.



Anyway, Hugh Laurie deserved to win that, he was the best in the category, and his acceptance speech was hilarious.

oh,please! Hugh Laurie is a fantastic actor - not to mention he's as hot as hell - he deserved to win!

i'm ecstactic that he did.

i honestly didn't expect him to, i thought matthew fox would win but then they said "HUGH LAURIE!"

And he gave a hilarious acceptance speech.



HOUSE is better than Grey's anatomy, and im sure is much harder to play the brilliant dr.house than mcdreamy.

As much as I love PD and his character on Grey's Anatomy, HL was/is the best actor out of all the men nominated. I love both shows equally.

Hugh's eyes do not only sparkle, they are the most amazing color of sapphire blue. He is extrordinarily sexy...a sexiness not wrought by pure "cuteness" but by a something that can only be achieved not only looks, but intelligence, brilliant comic timing, charm...ok I'll stop gushing

I can't tell you how happy I am to see Patrick Dempsey on screen again. He along with Tim Matheson and Brendan Frasier have been underappreciated for basically their whole careers. All I always hear is about how good looking Brad Pitt is. Is he really? He doesn't look like he showers on a regular basis. What is sexy about that? Unfortunately, our country goes for looks only and any kind of brains or talent comes last (ex: Pamela Anderson in stacked. Are you kidding me?). I would take Patrick Dempsey over Brad Pitt or any of these other guys any day. Looks fade. And no, I am not hard up. I am married and have lots of friends (male included). Why don't we give Mr. Dempsey a break and let him enjoy his success with his family.

Hugh Laurie most certainly deserved the Golden Globe: he is quite simply the best actor on TV today. Patrick Dempsey is cute, but doesn't hold a candle to Laurie in the acting department-- range, subtlety, depth of emotions, wicked wit -- Hugh has it all. The real crime was that House was not nominated and that Grey's (lightweight)Anatomy was in its place. And in closing, Hugh Laurie is hotter than a Fort Worth sidewalk in July! His sexiness comes from his wisdom and beats PD hands down.

Im 20 years old... Patrick Dempsey was my age When i was BORN! maybe im too young to know everything about his career but i do know this, Patrick Dempsey is one of the best looking men i have ever seen! Beautiful... might i add... now that doesnt mean he deserved to win, and frankly i dont really care... but if he HAD won... It would have given me an opportunity to drool over Dr. McDreamy without having to wait until sundays episoden of Greys Anatomy.
My vote was for him!!

Yeah...sorry. As much as I love Grey's Anatomy and PD, the Golden Globes got this one right. Laurie's role is about a thousand times more complex than Dempsey's, and his nuanced performance just made everyone else in the category (though they're all great at what they do!) look like cardboard. And while Dempsey certainly has the better hair, Laurie's soulful eyes are the most gorgeous shade of cerulean I've ever seen.
