Ford is ready to get down and dirty for Indy 4
Filed under: Action, Fandom, DIY/Filmmaking, Remakes and Sequels
For all of you out there wondering whether or not
63-year-old Harrison Ford can still crack the whip, the man himself
told Coming Soon he's as ready as he'll ever be. In a Q&A about his role in the new thriller Firewall,
Ford took on the one question roaming about everyone's minds: Will his age hinder another action packed Indiana
Jones adventure?
"I can't tell you anything about Indiana Jones, but I think you've just seen a film in which I perform physically to an extent [that will be] sufficient for Indiana Jones.'" In Firewall, Ford actually has a scene in which he battles baddie Paul Bettany, while being thrown through glass and over a balcony. Yeah, I suppose that's sufficient enough - but something still tells me we'll have a younger actor alongside Indy to help kick things up a notch. Kind of like the relationship between Ford and Sean Connery in the Last Crusade, only I expect Indy to do his fair share of ass kicking.
Still no word on a script approval, but Ford did note that "the audience is there and everybody involved is anxious to make the film again." Hurray! Now if we can just get it done within Ford's two-year ultimatum window, then we've got ourselves an Indiana Jones 4 on the way.

After his comments on "Inside the Actor's Studio", I was already under the impression that he has been making the movie already. Lucas/Speilberg must be mad not to produce another one. I love the Indiana Jones series. Even though Mr. Ford's age may hinder high-impact, action thrillers as he's known for in the previous Indy movies, a older, wiser Indiana Jones would be a great mix for Indy 4. Maybe one where the older Indy thwarts Chinese Communists during the Korean War? I would welcome another Indy movie. I can't wait to see it.

I like Sean Connery as Indie's Father. I often wonder about Connery as an older, wiser James Bond!

I would love another Indy movie. At 63, Harrison Ford is still a hottie and a great actor. I'll be there for it.

Wish we could get Tom Selleck to follow in Harrison Ford"s footsteps and make more of his great action movies. --Quigley down Under was great. Maybe we could team the 2 of them up -- wouldn't that be great !!!! Wowwwwww, what an adventure that would be !!!!!

The REAL problem here is of course, not Harrison Ford being ready to put on the jacket & fedora again, but that for the film to happen AT LEAST three people have to have the time and motivation to start filming.
And that`s asking a lot.
Assorted schedules and other projects aside.
For one thing; consider Spielberg: He has grown increasingly high-tone "Message" films of late. The salm-bang action/adventure of Indiana Jones is great stuff, but it`s just not what Spielberg seems drawn to these days. That being the case,it just might be rather easy for Stephen to get sucked into a far different project before agreements can be arrived at and any WORK to begin.
Then there`s Lucas....
I`ll just say this: STAR WARS TV SERIES.
Now, since I doubt that Harrison Ford is sitting at home doing NOTHING but wait for the above creative geniuses to get their ducks in a row and call him, his availability is yet another element that is in a state of continuous flux.
...And that Two-Year Deadline?
Two years is not a lot of time when you consider that most projects that could keep either of these principles pre-occupied would easily consume a year or two.
In short...I want another Indiana Jones adventure as much as anyone....
But I think that finding the Ark Of The Covenant would be easier and quicker to accomplish.

YES! YES! YES! I absolutely loved the first "Indy" and saw it six times back-to-back. Needless to say, I've also repeatedly seen the other two.
What a great movie marathon it would be to run the first three and then showing a new fourth!

Yo, Indy!!! You STILL the man! I love to see you in action. I like older action heroes the best, because they prove that people over 50 don't have to succumb to the aging process. When I grow up to be 63, I wanna be strong and active just like you. :-)
Even when you're 70, keep eating healthy and rock on!!!

It will be great to have Harrison Ford in another
Idiana Jones Movie. Only he could play the part
and most likely will be all the more wise and astute
due to his age. After all we all get smarter as we
grow older. He'll whip the asses off any one coming
his way. Elegantly !!!!!

With Lucas, Spielberg, and Ford on board, I suspect we'll have a quality script. Would like to see Connery back, a new search for whatever, culminating in a final romantic seen when Indy professes his greatess search is over when he proposes to his love interest. I suggest a powerhouse age-appropriate actress of some importance, say Susan Sarandon.
Bring back "short-round" if he's still acting.
