Rose
Byrne and
Thandie
Newton just won't do - and the problem is their hair color. This, at least, is the latest word from the breathless
tabloid search for
Casino
Royale's Vesper Lynd. See, the villain's woman (to be played by
Caterina
Murino), has dark hair, and contrast between the ladies is a must. (And apparently the film's budget is so low that
hair dye is not an option.) According to the most recent rumors, the new It Girl is
Lana
Antonova, a Russian actress best known for, well, nothing. She does, however, appear in the forthcoming
The World's Fastest Indian (as "Sexy Woman
in Pink" - keep your eyes peeled), if you want to confirm that her hair is in fact blonde.
If nothing
else, her name is tantalizing close to the old school, dirty names that used to be assigned to Bond girls - remember
Xenia Onatopp?

HI,
AS FAR I AM CONCERNED THE ONLY BLONDE THAT COULD PULL OFF BEING A BOND GIRL IS SCARLETT(no last name is needed). TALENT AND BEAUTY ARE BOTH NEEDED FOR JAMES' GIRLS!

The Russian "Bond Girl" might sound good on paper, but if she doesn't have pizzaz don't bother. I am tired of Blonde Bombshells who have nothing between their ears and who are boring.

I think Bond 'girls' are terribly outdated; Ladies - shall we lobby for a female "Jaime" Bond with a stable of Bond 'guys'?

Who cares what HER hair color is? Isn't it bad enough that HIS hair is blonde? It just won't be the same!

I, personally, don't think she's pretty. Her hair's shaggy, she's gone overboard with the tanning, and she looks sort of manly and hard-muscled in her upper body.

i'm not the least bit turned on by the new blond james bond and she definately lacks appeal, both need an extreme hollywood makeover.

Bad casting choice for the new 007 (what were they thinking?!) + low budget (does this mean more of a plot?) + casting this ugly Russian woman (or is that a man?) = movie FLOP.
What about casting Jason Stratham as the new bond????

Alicia is right she DOES look like Fabio. Just the thought of her and Bond making out--well let them put on some cowboy hats and we have Brokeback Mountain--The Sequel.

Lana is cute - sexy even, but the new Bond girl needs refreshing - someone like Jessica Alba or Penelope Cruz.
