Since the initial and unexpected news of the total flop that was BloodRayne, we've been rather short on Uwe Boll news. While this break may be considered a blessing, the man
has finally shown up in the news again in response to his Worst Director Razzie nomination (for Alone in the Dark). Normally, the Golden Raspberry is a mark
of scorn, although in the past a handful of actors have used the award as a platform to apologize or attempt to explain
the failure of their films (such as the notorious Halle Berry Catwoman speech). Uwe, however, does not seem to be running in
this direction; rather, he sounds genuinely pleased to receive the nomination in a category in which some consider him
to be the frontrunner. "It is a great honour," Boll told the folks over at EuroGamer. "I take every
prize I get."
I love this man, because he makes my job so easy. And honestly, even though I (along with the rest of the world) think his films are awful, the man is doing what he loves. Maybe we'll get lucky, and he'll show up in person to receive his award - you know that'd be fun to watch.

Uwe Boll!
We're all doomed!
I swear he doesn't really know english and just directs his movies with various hand gestures. Editing of course doesn't require language, but he still decides to do it with various hand gestures.

Oh my god!
This director must be retarded or something!
A human being with more than two brain cells would blush and apologize about his/her carrer if he/she received a Golden Razzie.
Undoubtly, Mr Boll thinks that even awful publicity counts for a reputation.

Didn't Bill Cosby show up years ago to collect the multiple Razzies he earned for *Leonard Part 6*?
Dave Chappelle for *Leonard Part 7*!
How about an *Ishtar* prequel?

Hey, the man has been thought of and called (in videogame magazines and film periodicals) the modern Ed Wood for a *reason*.
In short, he truly loves making a certain sort of film (not that he's actually getting the results he tries for or even sees when filming). Before he went all creepy, Ed was the same way.
If one were to ask Uwe about the late Mr. Wood's passion for moviemaking (without resorting to crudity), I'd wager Herr Boll would even compare himself to the late director. Seriously.
Considering how many people came to see the humor in it all and began Golden Turkeys (largely on the works of Ed Wood and others of his ilk), Uwe may well have a point. The man's filmography will have our children laughing their fool heads off in a couple of decades. Meaning he may well have the LAST laugh. Just like Ed.

excellent article here that you should look up: http://www.cinemablend.com/feature.php?id=209
uwe isn't the next ed wood. you can't say that he has a passion or a love for doing movies because he churns them out like cadbury eggs at easter time with very little thought or care.
there must be more to it than that, the guy keeps getting progressively more funding for his halfassed flop jobs. there is no "struggle for his passion." he gets money, and blows it. if dr. boll is enjoying his razzies, it's because he enjoys the press. this whole cult film following that some people give him are ridiculous as the movies aren't even laughably horrible. they're just a good example of what you can do with a budget if you don't give two shits.
i'd say more, but then i'd just be repeating the article.
