Back in September, Karina reported the news that one
Ashton
Kutcher was rumored to be starring in the Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell-produced Evil Dead remake. Even an unconfirmed casting report was enough to
send Campbell's legion of devoted fans into a frenzy, and the wave of Ashton-hate in the comments made it clear that no
one was anything less than horrified at the possibility.Everyone should be very pleased, then, by the interview Campbell recently gave Penny Dreadful. According to the Chin himself, there probably will be a remake coming someday, but given how busy Raimi is, it won't be any time soon. In addition (this is the good news), the film won't have anything to do with the character of Ash - really, it'll be more a reinvention than a remake, in which the evil book affects "a whole new group of people in a different situation." The goal of the film - when and if it's made - will be to leave the low-budget campiness of the original film behind in favor of "flat out, scary-ass, un-rated horror."
And that sound you hear is a zillion Evil Dead devotees exhaling for the first time in months.

i think its a good idea to have a completly different situation depicted in the remake if there is one , becuase as a cult classic , you dont want the Evil dead to lose its luster or its apeal. The fans of this trilogy will never be happy with anyone replacing bruce campbell As Ash and to overlook this would be to cheapen the movies. i hope that this " remake " doesnt submit to the hollywood treatment and sticks to the camp and quite silly nature that we have all come to love. for nothing is worse than another horror movie that doesn't entertain us only masks a lack of story with gore that seems too realistic its disturbing. my first opnion was that i belive that you shouldnt remake something just becuase you can , re realease it if you want to get more money but then i remembered comments after the relaease of Evil Dead 2 , ( the movie that isnt a sequel but a movie of what Sam Raimi wwished The Evil dead to be) and it made me realize that we should trust Sam and keep in mind the possibility this may actually become a terrific movie on its own. dont underestimate the power of an idea.
to reprise Ash under a new face would cheapen the idea but to Add upon it, to change it , will only let it grow.
