T4 is Ready and Waiting
Filed under: Action, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Casting, RumorMonger, Remakes and Sequels
Moviehole reported this morning that Terminator 4 is a go: its got a script and
everything, and producers are just waiting for Arnold Schwarzenegger
to get booted from the governator's mansion. Based on an interview Mario Kassar - who produced Terminator 3 (and is currently out promoting Basic Instinct 2 - what a classy resume he's
putting together) - gave Extra, it sounds like rumors that Arnold's Terminator had been written out are
untrue, and both his character and the franchise will live to see another day. That said, is anyone really surprised?
Literally the first thought I had after T3 ended was "Well, they left that WIDE open for a sequel, didn't
they?" After all, even as the quality of the series declines, we still keep buying tickets: T3 cost about
$175 million and grossed $418 million worldwide. Apart from the fact that one might wonder why the brilliant robotics
folks in the future would make an indestructible hero that looks so damn old, what possible reason who they have to
stop making the movies?First more Conan and now this - why, studios are practically setting up camp outside Arnie's digs, praying that he'll get kicked out this fall.

Why wouldn't cyborgs sent from the future resemble older people? Look at the demographics. Europe and North America are heading towards a tyranny of fogies because of the lower birth rate. With the increasing rate of senior citizens and near-senior citizens, why wouldn't Skynet send an older appearing Arnie back? Besides, he had his muscle mass back in *T3*.

While I'm glad that they're making another Terminator movie, I don't know if Arnold should be in it. He's getting on in years, and while still in good shape for a man his age, I really don't want to see the naked California governor get out of that time machine bubble thingy.

Dont they make the Terminator age according to the advancing years from his first arrival in 1984, to make him blend in more if he was spotted by the law etc like on CCTV as he was shown in T2.

the "decline in quality of the series", as mentioned in the article, didnt actually occur until T3. T1 was good, but T2 was best. the biggest reason for this relative lack in quality in T3, is the fact that James Cameron didn't sign on to direct. get him for the next one (which of course probably wont happen), and T4 could be just as great as the first two.

I have seen all 3 Terminators and Terminator 1 is the best one even though computer graphics wasn't involved. The general atmosphere of the movie is very serious and the young terminator put on a very serious face and act. He is very determined to achieve his mission. There was also more killing in the movie which made it more of a terminator movie. I think Terminator 4 needs a new terminator to fill Arnold's position. A younger terminator who fits the role like the younger Arnold in terminator 1. A terminator who isn't afraid to kill someone and doesn't make corny gestures in the movie. I don't think there should be any woman terminators. I like computer graphics but it shouldn't dominate the movie like it did in Terminator 3. Something to consider would be to have multiple terminators come back in time.

I would love another Terminator, and I think Arnold has to be in it,, but another person I pray will be in it is NICK STAHL. I think he is an uderated, wonderful actor who I pray gets his due in parts for the future. It is always hard to be a new actor in a successful movie sequal, and I thought he more than rose to expectations. I anxiously await... T4!

I have also seen all 3 Terminators, but if Arnold isn't in it it just won't be a "Terminator" movie. I've seen other sequel movies where they change the main character and it just isn't as good. I also think if Arnold isn't in it a lot of people will think the same way and won't go see the picture. I could be wrong, but it is my personal opinion. I think Arnold still has what it takes to be "The Terminator".

The only way I would want to watch "Terminator 4" is
with Arnold Schwarzenegger in it; without him the series would be meaningless. Just compare it to "Predator" - two and three were sad little movies...
Another thought: Since California most likely will not re-elect Arnold, and Austria doesn't want him
back because of his stance on the death-penalty, and
he is slowly becoming impoverished, we must keep him off the unemployed-lines...let him do "Terminator 4"!!

Arnold is to Terminators, what Sean Connery is to James Bonds and John Wiessmuller is to Tarzan. Simply the best. He should be considered for the movie if only a Cameo.

I think a T4 movie would be great. Ah-Nold is leaving politics soon and will need this potential blockbuster to ease his way into BIG budget movies again. The soon to be ex-Gov may be in his 50's, but at least he ain't no George Foreman. His physique brings envy to younger guys and I am sure some of the ladies wouldn't mind another bubble scene. Only he can play this part. Who wants another James Bond like movie sequels with 50 different actors playing the lead part. Arnold is The Man and will always be known in movie land as THE TERMINATOR!

A terminator 4 without Arnie? What are you nuts?He made the franchise and he should finish it.Would you watch another Freddie movie without Robert Englund? Or Hell raiser without Pinhead? Why not take Jasons mask off and show Pauly Shore.

I think that "Ah-nuld" should be considered for "T4".. everybody knows he was/is better in movies than in politics. Personally I would've chose either Gary Coleman or that por star just for the humor in it all; for me & Jay Leno or David Letterman. But, back to the main subject: "Terminator" sequel. I would *LOVE* it if they (writers, studio execs, etc.) would get Kristanna Loken back as the NEW Terminator. Sure, it's basically re-hashing the same format & plot parts as "T2" where the bad guy from the 1st movie is now the good guy (or in this case, bad/good girl). Besides, think about this (but not in too much detail): Ms. Loken is a young, sexy, beautiful & attractive young actress, and would look great exiting that "time bubble" thing. Mr. "Guvuhnatuh" is a bit too old & just *yecch* for the exit scene(s) from his "time bubble". She doesn't even really have to be the "T-X", she could be more like the prototype for it. Maybe possibly a female version of a T-1000, like Robert Patrick in "T2". For this T-1000, have a little more fun with the character. She could have a slight "glitch" like a bit of a child-like mentality where she goofs off from time to time. Anyways, I just hope it stays with the format & has a good plot that works... makes you cling to the edge of your seat..like the first 2 movies, or else I'll just wait until it's on DVD.

"T4" WOULD BE AWESOME IF THEY MAKEIT ACTIONPACKED,
JUST LIKE THEY DID WITH T2. BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE THING MISSING FOR THIS RECIPE. ARNOLD NEEDS TO GET GUNS & ROSES BACK TOGETHER TO MAKE THE SOUNDTRACK FOR THE MOVIE. IT WOULD PROBABLY BE THE BEST MONEY MAKER EVER. THEN AGAIN , LOOK AT THE PUBLICITY IT WOULD GIVE BOTH OF THEM.

I think we need Arnold in there as the Terminator again. But it would be an interesting change of pace for the movie to take place in the future. Since Skynet already made the first move and started the war, it's probably safe to script 2 or 3 more movies all dealing with the future and perhaps either humanity taking back the planet or the machines taking over. We've seen very little about the future except for a handful of Terminators walking around crushing skulls and Hunter Killers flying around blowing things up. So it would be interesting to see a plot in the future, that could involve humanity's fight against the machines.

I agree with most of the posts that without Arnold it would be a dissapointment. It would be classic to reunite Cameron with Arnold as Cameron was the originator of the series. As far as Arnold being too old, let the cinema experts dial him in with the required wrinkle removers. His bod is still buff!

I really would like to see a Terminator 4 and would have to have Arnold Schwarzenegger in it to see it.
But should make it more like T2, as I greatly missed Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong in T3, as I did enjoy Nick Stahl he wasn't as great as Edward Furlong, and should go for a younger audience this time, as we really liked how troublesome John Conner and his friend were in the beginging of T2, kind of a smart ellick, trouble maker. as well should go for a darker halloween gothic image, and would be great if they put goth kids in this movie and less new technolgy machine army fighting and more common images of like a Fantasy Land with all sorts of entertainment gagets, with bright lights, and flashing video game images. within the battle grounds fighting zone just on the outskirts.
But have more of a Dracula theme, with the terminator.
as that is what i think it will be more like, a more gothic image. We need more goth images and more gothic people in movies and television today. and less preps and anal consertives.

T4 Will be just as good as Motley Crue's comeback.
Don't like the fact that arnold will be in it? don't go to see it. But ya know sometime down the line you will. Speaking of Motley Crue and T4 in the same sentence, I'd like to see them make the main song for the movie, or the ending credit song.
