Spider-Spoilers: Plot Leak?
Filed under: Action, RumorMonger, Fandom, Scripts, Comic/Superhero/Geek, Remakes and Sequels
The news of the hour for geek movie fans is the sudden appearance of a plot synopsis for the third Spider-Man movie. You can read the full three paragraph
summary here, but for now I'll break it down for you to hit the important bits. Mostly, it's a list of
confirmations of previous rumors -- presuming, of course, this synopsis is legitimate.- Gwen Stacy, daughter of the new police chief, will in fact develop a crush on Peter, causing some sort of love triangle as Pete and MJ are finally getting their relationship off the ground.
- Jameson will hire investigative journalist Eddie Brock to follow Peter around and figure out why MJ would leave Jameson's successful son for this loser kid.
- Sandman will come into being as an escaped prisoner hiding out on a remote beach is caught in a dreadful accident and finds himself turned into a shape-shifting sand creature.
- While investigating a crime scene Peter will find a "black substance" which merges with his costume to give him new powers. Hello, Venom.
- Harry finally snaps and becomes the new Goblin, teaming up with Sandman to fight Spider-Man.
- Lives of people "close to Peter" will be lost. This probably means MJ, since she isn't supposed to be alive currently anyway.
- Eddie Brock will become "distraught" for some reason. At this point, the "black substance" departs from Peter and joins up with Eddie to form sequel fuel.
Still not pleased with the existence of Gwen out of nowhere, after they gave her famous death scene to MJ and allowed MJ to survive it -- but oh well. I have a feeling I'll enjoy the flick anyway.

MJ isn't supposed to be dead at this point. In fact, Gwen Stacy should be dead. She should have died on the Brooklyn Bridge, being thrown off instead of MJ, her neck snapping as Spider-Man caught her with his webbing. MJ has a nice, long life ahead of her, whereas Gwen...well...she doesn't.

I don't think MJ will die. Gwen will shake things up and she, hopefully will die. She was supposed to be in the first movie. Pete will probably get closer to MJ while the one close to Peter that will die will be Harry, saving Peter from the Sandman.
Hopefully this will lead to Carnage. That would be Spider-Man 4/5 Rated R.

CARNAGE!? More like Venom! They probably won't do a Carnage movie. He's too similar to Venom, and Venom is much more popular and famous.

If I had to guess as to who would die in this film, it would be neither MJ nor Gwen, but perhaps Aunt Mae. Would make more sense to me, but then again Gwen getting killed due to dark symbiote spidey's alter ego could happen too.

spidey 1 was good. spidey 2 was better. so i'm expecting big things from the 3rd one. and i have a feeling this is gonna be raimi's last film as actual director. i'm sure he's gonna give us his best.
ps, i wish they had used gwen from the beginning instead of mj (don't get me wrong, i like mj).
thanks.

In order to keep some semblance of continutity with the comic series, it would have to be Gwen and not MJ who dies. I'm looking forward to seeng Sandman and, hopefully, the Black Costume.

i say because they messed up spider-man's story from the start, they kill him off and introduce carnage and make a movie of just carnage and venom......venom gets sucked in to a time abis and carnage kills him self because of so much power. Kinda like the tv show......

Please don't kill off MJ-we love her and can't see anyone taking her place not even Sharon Stone.

Yep, it's Gwen Stacy that dies... The original Green Goblin was the cause of her death... MJ eventually marries Peter... Captain Stacy dies, too... (where's the editor?!?). I guess we can forget about seeing the Secret Wars version of how Spidey got the black suit (Vemon)...

Start digging those graves! Gwen Stacy should die...as daughter of the Police Chief, this turns the Police against Spidey.(Since they already don't approve of costumed vigilanties.). Aunt Mae should die...adding both reality & angst to Spidey's life. ( Just as the comics like to do.).Harry should die...but not as a "noble martyr",Spidey took his Dad from him, this is REVENGE to the death! And...bring in Patrick Stewart as The Vulture.

They invert the story between Gwen and MJ, but Kirsten Dunst want more money if "they wants her for a fourth movie of Spider-man". Remember, the movies is a business...and hey! who miss MJ?.

after 3 if they make another they have to add Mysterio because the "carjacker" in the first film was Mysterio it said so in the comic that the carjacker was him so if they make another spidey movie mysterio has to be in it

Mysterio would be nice if they wouldn't have killed the carjacker in the first one. So through that theory out the window.

I can't believe a talented storyteller like Sam Raimi would bother with a side-show freak villain like Venom- the worst villain in Spidey history. He's nothing but a monster. This isn't a Hammer Film, or a Carl Laemmle Universal production. This is Spider-Man. As bad as Venom is in the comics he'll be worse in the movies. I'd rather see Rocket Racer, Big Wheel, The Tinkerer, Stegron or Will-O-The-Wisp. Heck, Madame Web would be more interesting than Venom. Then again, I hear the ten year olds like Venom.I'm not trolling or anything. I'm totally serious when I say that Amazing Spider-Man 300 began the lowest point of the series for the reason I mention above. An ALIEN SYMBIOT? Are we supposed to relate to that? A Spider-Man villain needs to at least be in the universe of believability.I know, I know. I trust Sam. He'll make a good movie. I just don't know how he'll do it with Venom playing an important role.
