im a bond fanatic!............I really hope that the producers either make it where Connery hands over the reigns or cast's him into the fold as an agent but not a bad guy or as a wuss...

If they are going to give Sean a role then his previous record as Bond should be recognized. Perhaps make him the father of the new Bond or let him be a retired agent or something. Certainly not as a loser.

Sean Connery and his Scotland Forever tattoo has always been the epitome of James Bond. The others have been only passable, SOME of them at least, and his protrayal will always be THE Bond...James Bond.

Sean Connery IS James Bond - He has the class and sophistication that all the others just don't have. The older he gets the more sexier he is - You either have it or you don't - and Sean Connery has it!

Sir Sean as his father would unfortunately, not be possible because in Goldeneye, it is revealed that both of Bonds parents died in a climbing accident. A retired agent would be cool, however.

Well , you know we all may have it wrong . after many years and many differnts actors doing Bond maybe this is where it is finally revealed that there are many James Bonds and Sean Connery can hand off the reins from james Bond to the new James Bond. After all james may not be his real name after all he is a secert agent and there are many to have just a limited number so maybe all 007's are called James Bond. We can show Sean Connery on the beach with the new bond saying . Hey, I was once James Bond agent 007, also but my real name is Sir Sean Connery.

Definately not a wuss or a bad guy...don't do that to us! Training a new Bond, or the go to guy for advice -- yes. I can see some very funny scenes of him imparting his wisdom and "cautions" to the new 007

I think that if his fater was not really dead from an accident would be a nice little twist to James Bond, but do not kill or defame a hero!

There never has been, or will be, a Bond like Sean Connery.....and the man just gets sexier as he gets older....the way he talks, and lifts that eyebrow! If they bring him back in this movie, he needs to be an advisor or something to the new Bond, and show him how it is done. Connery rocks.

Connery should be cast as Q, since the original Q passed away....Roger Moore should be cast as the wuss who gets beaten by Bond, Pierce Brosnan should be cast as an assassin that Bond has to deal with,like metalmouth's recurring role....Timothy Dalton ,well, he could work for craft services or if he's lucky, an extra

Why Casino Royal?
Wasn't that done already?
How about something totally New Like one I thought of many years ago, called Apollo, with a New space program to colonize space for example and the evil guy tries to take it over so that any space craft leaving Earth will have to pay him tribute or something like that.
It could have all the flair of any Bond films without having to go the "remake" route which I think would be bad for many reasons.
One is that we don't need comparisons to the "old vs the new" one. and we don't need the whole Bond franchise to get old and stale going over old material again and again.

Sean as a coward, not in this life time!!!!!!!!! I could handle him being a retired agent but no way would I pay money to see him as a wuss!! Sean Connery is James Bond, all the others pale in comparison!

Maybe most of you are too young to know but Casino Royale was not a "Bond" movie per say, it was a spoof about James Bond. So don't get to uptight about how they do the story unless this "re-make" is trying to be a real Bond film. And speaking of re-makes, have all the writers died or jumped ship? It seems like most of the movies coming out are re-makes and for one I'm sick of it!

Sean Connery giving advice and such to our new James Bond would be very classy. I'd also love to see George Lazenby in a similar role as he made a very real and total person out of James Bond in OHMS!
