Oy Vey! Jon Heder Attached to Another Film
Filed under: Comedy, Casting, Deals, Universal, Scripts, DIY/Filmmaking, Newsstand
Just when you hoped Hollywood had figured out that
there was nothing even remotely funny about Jon Heder, the goofy actor
has signed on to star in Universal Pictures' Loudermilk. The studio preemptively picked up the high-concept
comedy pitch by Chris Bowman with Heder and his two brothers, Dan and
Doug, attached to produce through their newly formed Greasy
Entrainment shingle. Talk about two guys who stepped into gold. I wonder if Jon would mind taking me on as
a long lost brother? Heck, I'll go by Erik Heder if it means I get my own shingle too.
The film's plot is being kept under wraps right now, but one can only imagine what a flick called Loudermilk would be about? Perhaps, through a weird scientific experiment, Heder trades places with a carton of milk? Yeah, and when the milk starts talking, everyone around it is like, "Hey, did that milk just get louder?" While, so far, all of Heder's roles have been Dynamite-esque, something tells me this summer's School for Scoundrels will give him a chance to finally prove he can hang with the big boys.
Though I haven't seen it yet, there's obviously something appealing about this kid that has everyone itching for him to star in their film. Currently, Heder is filming Blades of Glory (Wasn't there an old school Nintendo game that went by that name?) alongside Will Ferrell, however production has been delayed after good old Napoleon fractured his ankle while ice skating. Aww, I sure hope that doesn't hinder him from performing in the other gazillion films he's attached to.

Heder's Header's Headin' For Heady Headlines!
Only in America can a moron be a genius, and vice versa. There was Jerry Lewis, Steve Martin, Martin Short... And now through the dimming mist of Napoleon Dynamite's moronic mentality shines a bright star: The brilliantly dingy John Heder. His roles get bigger and brighter and... more sophisticatedly simple-minded.
How far this star will rise is limited only by the availability of silly scripts, for John Heder will lead the way through the star-lit sky with his inimitable and boundless talent.
He has the talent and momentum to be on the screen all his life... (Ever stop to think what sort of role he will be playing at 50?!)

I don't think there is anything special about Jon Heder. I found Napolean Dynamite to be extremely boring and lacking in humor. I personally don't care to see any other movies that the kid does because I don't think that he is a good actor at all.

Jon Heder is old-school comedy. He's clean and doesn't need to rely on sex and cursing to make him funnier. Perhaps that's why so many in our society just don't 'get' his type of comedy.

I'm surprised. I like Jon Heder. Maybe that's because my kids do and he's someone who can entertain all of us. The first time I saw Napoleon Dynamite, I have to admit, it was less than thrilling but then I watched it again and again and it really grew on me. Don't know why. We all saw The Benchwarmers and it was the best movie we saw in a while. Don't know why :) There's a kind of innocence to his characters a wierd kind of innocence. Kinda creepy kind of innocence. Like that kid we all grew up with who was so creepy wierd that we kept our distance but yet wanted to see what creepy wierd thing he would do next. :)

The boy is a dolt, just because you call someone stupid and then talk with some ease into a camera, this does not make you an actor.
But in a culture that elevates Adam Sandler to star status I am sure Mr. Heder will be playing Hamlet by summer..."to be or not to be, for sure stupid"

Jon Heder is a hoot. I thought Napoleon Dynamite was classic humor. Everytime I watch that movie I die laughing and pick up on little things that I missed the last time. It's one for the misfits...too funny.

It took me more than a few times to actually think Napoleon Dynamyte was funny. But, once I did laugh, I actually thought that Jon Heder did a great job in his role. Obviously he can act - do you think ANYONE is really like Napoleon? I'm interested to see where Heder's career takes him - he's pretty talented and seems to have a good head on his shoulders (did anyone see the episode where he got Punk'd?).

I think Jon heder is great. I can't wait to see bench warmers. I'll probably see all of his other movies too. I think that anyone who says he's not funnny needs to get an MRI because there's obviously something wrong with their head.

Jon Heder is extremely talented, and "Napoleon Dynamite" was absurd, off-kilter humor at its best; it's one of my favorite comedies. Initially I was perplexed about the movie, but then I decided to watch it again. Was I glad that I did! It never fails to make me guffaw. In any event, I can't wait to see all the films that Heder makes in his career.

Help me understand. You are not a critic but a basher? You can't see the skill it took to carry off Napoleon? Jon Heder is a star while you sit here in Weinerland taking pot shots at him that don't even come close to accurate. I would rather watch his acting than read your writing. Gosh.

John Heder is hot and I wanna make out with him. You are just jealous because you didn't get a break like he did. I believe he will rule for years to come, just hope they don't make a Napoleon 2, it could only disappoint.

You said Blades of Glory was a game nintendo had? The game is called Blades of Steel. Blades of Steel is an ice hockey game that nintendo had out in the late 80's. It was a really cool game.
