Ali G Gambles on Ocean's Thirteen?
Filed under: Casting, RumorMonger, DIY/Filmmaking, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Remakes and Sequels
Who knew George Clooney was such a big Ali G fan? Apparently, the Good Night, and Good Luck director is so into the British
comedian, he wrote a part in Ocean's Thirteen
specifically for him. With Talladega Nights due
out this summer, Ali G (or Sacha Baron Cohen) is beginning to
show signs he's ready to roll with the big boys.
Now that we're just three months away from the start of production, casting for Danny Ocean's third trip to the big screen is really starting to heat up. Recently, after news broke that neither Julia Roberts nor Catherine Zeta-Jones were returning, everyone from Jennifer Lopez to Angelina Jolie are rumored to be interested in a role. Clooney admitted to Sky News that he's a big fan of Cohen's work and that, if he decides to get down with the role, he'd be playing an "oddball character." Oh, and the rest of Ocean's crew are just so normal, right?
In related news, singers Barry Manilow and Céline Dion are also in talks for roles in the film. If that's the case, then this means part of the plot will probably surround a Dion/Manilow concert. Wicked! Ocean's Thirteen is going to totally rock out. I'd say yes to Ali G playing an oddball character. Manilow and Dion? Um, not so much.

Jennifer Lopez and Celine Dion would be perfect for the oddball characters. They could just be themselves and they would have the part locked.

PLEASE STOP BELIEVING THAT HAVING JENNIFER LOPEZ IN A MOVIE WILL MAKE A MOVIE GREAT. SHE HAS NOT HAD A SINGLE HIT SINCE SELENA.
THE GIRL CAN'T ACT NOR SING.

ocean's 12 sucked donkey balls, so i'm probably not going to catch this installment either. learning that julia roberts is going to absent from this one is a plus for me, though, because i pretty much hate everything she's ever been in. jennifer lopez would be a doubly annoying replacement, but angelina jolie might work. i'd sort of like to see a name that we don't already know. but ali g is a funny bamf, so i'm reconsidering my stance on this movie.

oceans eleven is and will always be the best movie in this series. i turned off oceans 12 halfway through, and as far as J-LO or even Angelina Jolie up for a possible role in 13...I think Jolie is the best bet. She has the ability to captivate audiences with award winning acting. As for J-LO...well, she hasnt been able to keep an audience captivated since she was a fly girl on in living color.

I saw both "Ocean's 11" and "Ocean's 12" I liked them both. Very entertaining. I enjoyed the relationship and comic timing that Clooney and Pitt have down pat. I even enjoyed the music in both films. I look forward to another. But I hope they CAREFULLY CHOOSE NEW actors and actresses. You can Easily ruin a film by having the wrong people in it.

Well whatver chance this movie had, it's gone down the drain, first J. Lo, then Angelina Jolie, and now the ever ridiculous Ali G. bleckkk. The producers should just quit while they are obviously behind.

I bet Clooney will make 13 about how Republicans are evil and have Pitt's character talk about stem cells because these guys are actors which makes them smart because they can read lines.

ocean's 12 with a beautiful, strong cast and lousy writing and the actors know(that it was lousy writing), because they're the ones who act it OUT, still couldn't entertain us!
JO LO please!
i'm skipping "O 13".

Well, I wonder who will be up for the roles when Clooney casts, "Oceans 22..." I mean, did we learn absolutely NOTHING from the ROCKY flicks? Oh, maybe the Olsen Twins will be up for the part, and some teeny bopper like Jessie McCartney will be up for the musical role, lol--of course, Ocean will be a Grandpa by then! ie: Let one great and a second mediocre film be; get creative, Georgie boy! Try thinking outside of the OCEAN!!!

I also hated Ocean's 12. What a stinker! I personally have had my fill of Jolie's mug and think Jlo would actually be very good in such an upcoming movie. She is a decent actress...and still pretty hot IMHO.

Has anyone given any thought to Halle Berry? She is a terrific actress and certainly capable of holding her own in a star-studded cast and in drawing the public to the theatre. Definitely in a league of her own!
