Dude they're been floating that rumor around for YEARS!
If it was gonna happen it would have happened when Sailor Moon was still being aired in the US.

What they need to do is to release the last season(which they won't. Ask me if you wanna know why).

NO! Sailor Moon was already done. They did a good job back then and they CANNOT ruin it! If they do this, especially using Linsay, no offense, then well...it won't be the same! You can't redo something that was already done, especially this series.

This is absolutely stupid! Lindsey Lohan is already a has been at 19 and is now only famous for partying, more partying...who she dates...and being chased by photographers who her publicist tipped off in the first place! Joss is better then this on any day! Besides, like you, I'd like to see him tackle something more spectacular when it comes to anime! Akira, Space Cruiser Yamato(Star Blazers), Robotech, Mobile Suit Gundam, Astro Boy, Speed Racer, 8 Man and
G-Force are just some of the great material, etc., that Joss Whedon could chose from rather then "Sailor Moon"! I mean, can't Fox come up with something better than that for an industry genius like Joss Whedon to develop?

And what's with the casting of Linsey Lohan? This girl is destined to disappear into the "flavor of the month" junkyard along with Tara Reid and more then half the casts of "American Pie" and "American Beauty"! I ask you, how many of the kids from those movies have a career right now? Right...almost zero and falling! Joss, stick to Wonder Woman, Serenity sequels and that musical you always wanted to do! This mediocrity trap called "Sailor Moon" starring Lindsey Lohan...isn't worth the backlash or the trouble!

This is the first time i've looked at cinematical and hoenstly, this news makes me sad. I like Sailor Moon for all the silliness and novelty, but a live action Lindsay Lohan feature?? UGH gross. i'm sorry i'm sad.

Please, no. I have almost no faith in Live-Action Evangelion turning out good, but this is a combination spawned in Hell.

I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing Brad Pitt as Tuxedo Mask.

There was already a live-action TV show in Japan. Ran for 52 episodes and showed us all the horror that is live action Sailor Moon. And I don't think Hollywood can do any better.

The old rumour, which floated around the Internet way back around the summer of 1997, was that Geena Davis was developing a live-action Sailor Moon film for Disney, and that she wanted to star as Queen Beryl. If there was any truth to that, nothing ever came out of it, and, if Disney ever optioned the live-action rights from Kodansha and/or Toei, they'd likely have lapsed by now, free to be snatched up by Fox.

If this story is credible, of course. And I'm getting at least a faint whiff of unadulterated bullplop.



As for live-action Evangelion, I'll believe that it will happen when it gets backing from an actual studio, not just a special effects house (which I think is being paid and is not paying for it themselves). Until then, it's a pipedream that'll never happen.

They screwed up vision of escaflonae on saturday mornings, and then they had the guts to rip any shread of decency from most animes they show on there....but now a live action sailor moon? geez come on...especially with lindsey lohan...oh wait...they'll probably have the olson twins playing alan and ann...uhoh..its the trifecta from hell....please STOP THE INSANITY!!!

Wow someone just said that the live action tv show that aired in Japan was bad. It wasn't, but if you honestly think it was then this movie will be true torture.

Do I think they will end up making the movie? No. If they do make it will it be decent? It has the possibility of being decent, I mean if they get they right actors and actresses and don't just use the mainstream ones for ratings. And if they do a good job on it then it also opens the doors for more anime live action movies to be created, much like what happened with the comic book movie craze. Is that a good thing? I don't know. Depends if they do an amazing job like they have with recent comic and musical movies or they do a cop out with Lindsay Lohan, or Hilary Duff or any other non-substance actress/actor.

I have very mixed feelings about whether or not I would want the movie to come out. I have loved the anime for so long that I would see a sailor moon live action movie regardless of who was in. I do feel however that the show is way past its peak to be thinking of a movie now. 10 years ago was another story. I wonder if Fox truly believes it can make something great out of this or if it is just an excuse to release another line of action figures or video games. I fear the latter, that they are trying to cash in on something that maybe is happily at rest.

From what I recall this came from the April 1st issue of Animage so it's suspect to begin with. However, has anyone checked with Fox's media staff for the veracity of this story?

I would have to say this whole idea if really stupid. The so called "fanboys" of anime that still freakin like this aren't fanboys at all. Y'all should get into better anime if you think this is a good idea. I read what the guy said about the Evangelion and frankly, none of the current mainstream anime is worth dubbing and airing on TV. I also include Naruto for all you people that like it. The acting and story are so much better in subbed. This all being said, I must refrain from saying I wouldn't go see it. If they make this into a LA movie... who WOULDN'T wanna see Lindsay Lohan turn into a lesbian? (i.e the last season as the guy at the beginning stated is where this happens... which constitued the whole not airing it)

I think it's ridiculous that holloywood wants to mess with a good thing by making "Sailor Moon" a live action
movie. Really, don't these shmucks have any more original ideas? Geez! I loved Sailor Moon as a kid. I loved Serena ( Sailor Moon), because she was a relateable character and she stood for all that is good in the world. When I think of Lindsay Lohan, I think of
the paparazzi, binge drinking and worst of all, bad films. My two cents: Sailor Moon should be left alone and taken as it is: a fun show. Hollywood: come up woth something decent for a change!
