La Lohan's Impressive Family Tree
Apparently untroubled by how deeply annoying the
once-adorable Lindsay Lohan has
become, Hollywood is casting her right and left. Just off her work with the legendary Robert Altman in A
Prairie Home Companion, in which Oscar winner Meryl Streep
plays her mother, La Lohan has scored herself another award-winning mom in the form of Felicity Huffman. The two have signed on to costar in Georgia
Rule, which Garry Marshall
will write, direct and produce for Morgan Creek. In the film, Lohan plays a rebellious young woman (a role that will be
a true test of her acting chops) who so exasperates momma Huffman that she's sent off to spend the summer with grandma,
who will be played by none other than officially back-in-the-game Jane Fonda.Very little about this project is yet official, but if financing falls into place and all the personnel work out as expected, there are hopes for a summer shoot.

"Apparently untroubled by how deeply annoying the once-adorable Lindsay Lohan has become..." Why start out like this? Do you actually know her well enough to say that? Or like most are just annoyed with the over exposure in every tabloid? If it's the later, then you need to be annoyed with the press. It isn't that I am her biggest fan, but I feel that we as a public are always taking aim at the easy targets. You never hear some one say I am so sick of Barry Bonds taking steroids, or Dick Cheyney for...well that list is to long. Instead we target a 20 something yr old girl, who does some ok, nice, family type films, I'd say, set your sights for bigger game and let the girl do her job.

Lindsay Lohan is very annoying. It must be impossible for a young girl to make it in Hollywood without becoming a whore look-alike. She's a terrible actress, and she obviously cannot seem to get out of roles where she basically plays herself. How hard is it to play yourself?

She is over-exposed...has done no memorable work on film, Her claim to fame is that she is a tabloid darling....not much talent to speak of.
I agree with your opening lines...true words!

Lindsay Lohan is so overexposed that it's no wonder people gag at the sight of her name. Unlike Paris Hilton, who plays the game for fun, Lindsay is dead serious about her bad girl image. Someone in Hollywood should realize that the American public is up to here with Lindsay's antics and Lindsay's publicity machine. This will be one more movie I'll skip -- "Dallas," too.

Still think she is a good actress. Her role in the new Parent Trap is a classic and she draws big crowds at the box office. Of course Hollywood is going to continue to book her. She is merely acting her age with the money and influence to unfortunately get it all reported in the tabloids.

The only reason Lindsay Lohan is perceived as "deeply annoying" by some people is due to the way the media has taken her personal drama and turned it into a salacious, slanted free for all for those in the American public who have nothing better to do than obsess over a pretty young actress. Lohan has taken some serious steps to separate herself from the trashy tabloid pack by picking more adult roles and by surrounding herself with some of the best talent in Hollywood. The fact that Robert Altman picked her for "A Prarie Home Companion" says much about Lohan's range, and it enhances her prospects for a long and varied film career. Lohan is also doing another film titled "Bobby" which also features Anthony Hopkins, Sharon Stone, Elijah Wood, William H. Macy, Helen Hunt and Demi Moore. Adding a legend such as Jane Fonda to the list of her co-stars can only help her mature as an actress. Lohan is immensely talented and will be around for a long time.

Lindsay Lohan is one of the brightest actors of our time.
She started off doing Disney.....moved to teen comedies....then young adult roles....now to roles working with the BIGGEST and BEST Hollywood has to offer.
That's nothing to sneeze at.
Do you honestly think that she'd be doing these movies with such great actors and getting over 10 million a picture....if anyone truly believed an ounce of the lies that the tabloids use to make her look bad?
Get real people! She been the "IT" girl for a few years now.....and she's here to stay!

I actually know Lindsay, and don't find her annoying at all. The last time we worked together was right before "Freaky Friday." She recorded the lead voice on a audio book for me. She was very pleasant and professional to work with...The problem here is the projects that are sent her way. I find it hard to believe that in the last five years she has lost her natural acting ability. In fact, the above-mentioned scripts sound like actual films where we can see her true abilities.
So, before everyone throws her away in the trash, let's wait and see what happens with her new projects. I've always believed that if she had the opportunity to work in films with substance, we would see her shine.
Just my thoughts...

I don't find Lindsay Lohan annoying at all, she is young, wealthy and will mature into a fine actress one day. "With age comes wisdom"....at least you don't see her behaving like Paris Hilton, seeking publicity by acting like a jerk 24/7! I think we all forget how hard it is to age gracefully not to mention being in the public eye. Lindsay also had a father who was not exactly a great role model.

Lindsay comes across in interviews as self centered, egotistical brat who is all about herself. Upon seeing / hearing her on TV, I can not reach fast enough to turn the channel.

I and my family have watched Lindsay grow up on the screen from the not so cute but obviously talented child actor to the maturing young and beautiful woman she is today. It pains me to see the dirt the tabloids print about her, and I for one choose not to read the junk. And if some of it is true, doesn't everyone have a right to go through a "young and stupid" phase, even actresses? The difference is that most of us have our young and stupid phases confined to our home towns or circle of friends, and can take steps to put those time behind us - she has the whole tabloid press watching her, with Internet links to forever remind the public of every little supposed slip or slight. The truth will come out eventually, and I am confident that Lindsay will come through this period of her life shining better than ever. If she remains true to herself and not to the image of a woman others want her to be, then there is nothing she cannot accomplish. Go get 'em, Miss Lohan!

I would also have to agree. Not only is Lindsay annoying, but she's also some other word that I have yet to invent (characterized by being 19, but living it up at bars without any consequences and following in her mother's trailer-trash-like footsteps).
Hilmar, you need to open your eyes. 1) She tells some magazine (was it Vogue?) that she has an eating disorder and that she's done drugs (I'm assuming cocaine by the way she looks half the time and the way her mother looks all the time) 2) then when the mag hits the newsstands she denies it and calls the magazine a liar 3) then she interviews for Cosmo and says that most of what is said about her in the tabloids is true. Lindsay is exactly that, a little girl that can't make up her mind. I'm only 2 years older than her, but I can guarantee that I have a much better head on my shoulders and wouldn't be doing stupid things that I know is going to end up on the front page of Star and then complain about it later. These celebrities knew exactly what they were getting into before they signed their contracts, so complaining about the paparazzi just makes them sound like spoiled brats. You're in every big name movie, have millions of dollars, and you expect people to leave you alone. Give me an effin' break. And need I add that during that same Cosmo interview she said that the reason why she gets so many jobs is because of her boobs.
Now, let's look at that. The only reason why she gets any jobs is because of her boobs. That statement should explain everything. She's a talentless whore with a fake rake. No girl is going to jump 3 cup sizes after the age of 17. None! Not without a little help from a plastic surgeon or 2.
And PJK, Disney booted Lindsay because they believed she was turning into a whore, which isn't exactly the best role model for the individuals that watch Disney movies. Oh, and she's not the IT girl, she's the girl that's DONE IT with practically everybody in Hollywood to get where she is.
I have no respect for celebrities who a) have no formal education to speak of and b) who'd much rather sell their soul to make millions than to actually make good movies.
We have to be honest with ourselves and admit that Hollywood has been garbage since the beginning of the new millenium. Everybody wants to be a star, but no one wants to be a star. Everyone wants the fame and fortune, but none of the hardwork that is actually involved to make a film that's worth seeing.
From her flashing incidents, to pole dancing with Kate Moss, Lindsay has major issues and the excuse of having a bad father ain't cutting it. Many people have messed up homes and don't end up anything like Lindsay.
Hilary Duff (same age and same exposure) sure isn't whoring herself around town. She's in a serious relationship and she still hasn't has sex (supposedly, but I believe her, unlike the likes of folks such as Britney Spears).
And need I mention that it seems as though Lindsay's mother is living vicariously through her daughter. That would explain the cracked-out looks, anorexia, and being an overall nasty whore.
In closing, I do think that Lindsay is attractive (when she's wearing make-up, but who couldn't look attractive with a Hollywood make-up team? need we discuss Oprah?) but she is a non-talentless actor. I do agree with Chelsea, how hard is it to play yourself?
Oh and before I go, Blake, just because your try to do movies with more mature people doesn't make you mature. Especially, when after the shoot you go and act like you're 6.

It is pretty sad when talented actors can't even have a life without the media being in their face 24/7 and over exposing every move. Then the public berates the actor for being in the media too much. I don't think they are calling the sick media to get in their face in order for their life to be in the public this way. Don't even try to go there with well they chose that career they have to deal with it as you enjoy the art they produce at the theaters for you to see and rave or not rave about. Lindsay is a very talented and cute young actor that doesn't deserve to be call a whore or brat or any of the other names she is called. I as a parent of a young teen would be hurt to see that the public makes comments of a person they don't even know. Sounds like a lot of jealous people out there because she not only is making a good living and paying her way in taxes and bills like the rest of us, but that she is making so much more than the rest of us. Get over it! Get a life and leave that young girl alone! Worry more about the Scott Petersons in this world and those that destroy human life for EGO not young talents like Lindsay. She is doing what she loves and is darn good at it.

Hey B Conant, I bet your kid isn't running around with the likes of Kate Moss and trying to get into everyone's pants (including George Clooney). So, no your kid is not a whore.
And way to not have your story straight. She's not a young teen. She's an old teen. And if you yourself gave her any respect, she wouldn't be cute, she'd be gorgeous or beautiful or any adjective describing someone that's 19 not 2.
And I do believe the people on this blog are concerned with the likes of Scott Petersen, but this blog is about Lindsay Lohan.
And sure, I'd love to have money like that, but I'd personally be more like Jody Foster (college education, makes good movies, isn't a media whore, has respect for myself).

First of all, whether YOU like her or not, does not make her less talented. As an EX on the road musician, I know how difficult the LIFE can be. The work is exhausting and the hours are long. Being an actress requires dedication, skills, patience and drive...and talent. I find Lindsay very easy to watch on the screen and very likeable. I even managed to sit and watch HERBIE with my kids...the ONLY saving grace was Lohan. So I agree with many of the others that if the media would just let her alone and give her a chance to make a few mistakes, they might find that a talent is emerging in this young woman. I am looking forward to seeing her in some meatier roles...I am sure she will shine.

What do you people really expect? Hollywood is Hollywood and they are known for sensational scandals and fictitious accounts of what really happened. That's what makes it great.
Sure this girl has been in the tabloids more than I'd like to see, but obviously it isn't hurting her career. For you who bash her, you sure do have a lot to say about her. And that's why you'll keep having a lot to say.
You secretly lover her. ^_^
