Resident Evil Gets Ashanti

You can't keep a good film down. Well okay ... a passable film. It's no secret a third Resident Evil film is on the way, building on the undeniably mediocre success of the first two. Resident Evil: Extinction will serve as the finale to the video game franchise's film run; a run which was easily among the most successful for a video game-to-movie titles. The final film will see the return of most of the franchise's stars, most notably of course being Milla Jovovich. A new actress can now be added to the list, as singer/actress Ashanti's official website now declares she will be joining the film's cast. No indication of what part she will be playing has been offered as yet.I will never forgive Ashanti for the fiasco that was Muppets Wizard of Oz. I know she didn't write it or anything but the film hurt my soul, and she was a big part of the reason. Don't get me wrong ... I still loved the Muppets (and always will), but the flick could have been a whole lot better, starting with the casting of Dorothy. Hm, this post took a pretty radical turn there, from killer zombie flick to the Muppets. I'd apologize for it, but there's never a reason to apologize for talking about the Muppets.

After the awful stereotype that Mike Epps played (he's back in this one) I can't wait to hear what dialog they've got planned for Ashanti.

The real appeal will be if Ashanti were to appear naked and not the lead actress.

I hope Ashanti gets kiled with the quickness. Want my opinion? Judging from the last one, The comedic interludes of mike epps had all the black people in the theater saying..."yo he right, nigga, that shit be mahh funny." So maybe Ashanti got put in to appeal to Black people. Nothing wrong with that. Just observing. But it really pisses me off that its got to have to all tie back to "hip hop" product placement to get people to go see it. Maybe if the first two didnt suck and they let George Romero direct them we would'nt be in this debachle.

All the black people said what? I saw the second movie here in New York City and NOBODY acted like that , NOBODY! Keep your racist comments and views to yourself because you don't have a clue !"yo , he right?" Is this how you think black people talk and act? I'm a black man who lives in NYC and we certainly don't act like this..Maybe next time, before you put your foot into your mouth, you should do a little research first .
WOW , "yo , he right" "mahh funny" ? Who talks like this ?

Hey I personally liked the first two movies. I like Ashanti too. I'm not to sure this will make a good combo. It might be like pepperoni on pizza or it could be like ketchup on spinach. Also I think you should watch your comments about black people I'm white and I know a lot of black people and they don't talk or act like that man. Don't make up crap just to make it seem like you have something really interesting to add.

Actually I saw the movie in NYC and every black person spoke like that. In fact, they do that in every film. Except in American History X, but I guess they can't handle the truth.

I ONLY HOPE MILLA JOVOVICH CAN KICK ENOUGH ASS TO SAVE FACE FOR THE REST OF THE SCRUBS CUZ THIS MOVIE IS DOOMED TO BOMB. AND YES I REALIZE IM TYPING IN CAPS AND IM DOING IT JUST TO SHOW MY COMPLETE OUTRAGE...BUT HONESTLY I THINK DIGGING UP VINCENT PRICE WOULD HELP THIS MOVIE WAY MORE THAN ASHANTI'S WASHED UP ASS.

You know, I can remember Ashanti's guest appearance on Buffy as a demon. She was undeniably, unbelievable, but given the script and the content that Resident Evil is working with, she of the horrible acting should blend right in.

I'm not a fan of Ashanti and could care less what she does or doesn't do, bit I am a Resident Evil fan and am looking forward to the third and last installment.
Now I am going to voice my opinion about the two what many would consider to be "racist" comments made. To Vinny, go observe somewhere else! The "n" word is the most foul word ever created by the human race and the fact that you decided to type it says something.
Not all black people talk like that!! And to William Hehir you're also wrong not all black people talk like that, the two of you should not judge blacks or anyone else on just a few people, many of us are educated, civil and hard working!
If you do have any black friends(I HOPE NOT!), I don't think they would have appreciated your comments!!

I really resent people thinking they are adding Ashanti to the cast to motivate blacks to see it. I am black and there is nothing about her that is beckoning me to watch this movie. I did see the first two (and probably will see this one even if they take her out), and I admire good acting in any movie regardless of the race of the cast. Now as far as what I have seen of Ashanti, she can't act, but I know there are usually auditions for these types of things. Maybe she has taken lessons and the casting directors took notice of this. Maybe she is a whole lot better, and when producers are trying to pull in a certain demographic for an audience, I am sure they would go after "it" people that are in the limelight now. Ashanti is almost a "has been" just probably looking for any type of work to hold her over until she can finally come back with some musical hits.
