Hostel 2: Ladies Night Out!
Filed under: Horror, Lionsgate Films, Remakes and Sequels
NO, that is not the actual title of Eli Roth's Hostel sequel, so don't go blaming any wacky internet rumors on me. I simply used that title to illustrate the gender-reversal being explored in the hostile follow-up. In other words, where Hostel dealt with three guys and their misadventures within a Slovakian torture chamber, Hostel 2 will deal with three girls and their misadventures within an Italian torture chamber.Seems the various hostels work as McDonald's-style franchises, all interconnected and doling out death by the quarter pound. In this MTV article, Roth dished out some sequel dirt, and here's what we know:
- It'll be three gals instead of three guys, and they'll be in Italy instead of Slovakia.
- Jay Hernandez's character IS scheduled to be a factor in one way or ... another.
- Halloween 2-style, Hostel 2 will pick up immediately where its predecessor left off. (Like, on the train.)
- The "inner workings" of the International Slice & Dice Hostel chain WILL be explored, which sounds like fun.

OHH, Hostel 2, i cant wait. The first one was awsomely grusome. I was hoping they would bring back Jay, because i hate sequals that have nothing to do with any of the original cast. Nice call on bringing back Jay eli. Cant wait!!!

Exploring the "inner workings" sounds like the best idea for this sequel. I will see this, but only if someone sees it before me and without spoiling the movie tells me that it's unpredictable. I know it seems like a hard thing to ask for in horror movie, but a few suprises between all the expected blood and guts are what really do it for me.
Having female main characters worries me slightly. As much as I love a female heroine (Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween), it will very disturbing to see a helpless female being tortured... assuming that Eli doesn't make all 3 snobby sorostitutes that are spending their parents' money and taking off their clothes after a few shots of peach schnapps, in which case I'll probably have no emotion when they get what's coming to them.

I love Jay Hernandez. The only reason I watched HOSTEL was because his name was in the credits. I hope he has a big part in HOSTEL 2. Hopefully he wont be killed because his character of Paxton was pretty bad-ass.

I couldn't even finish watching the first Hostel because of how gruesome it was. I can only imagine what could happen to three helpless girls.
